PUBLIC COMMENTS
The City welcomes public comments on agendized or non-agendized items, however, please
note that the Community & Library Services Commission can take no action on this date, unless
the item is agendized. Each speaker may have up to 3 minutes unless the volume of speakers
warrants reducing the time allowance and cannot donate time to others.
Individuals wishing to speak may do so in one of two (2) ways:
1. In-Person: Fill out a Request to Speak form and deliver it to the Staff Liaison. Once the Chair
opens Public Comments, in-person participants will be called to speak first.
2. In Writing: Submit written comments via email to cgomez@surfcity-hb.org by 1:00 PM on the
day of the meeting. All written communications will be forwarded to the Community & Library
Services Commission and recorded as supplemental communication.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
23-752 Request approval of the August 9, 2023 meeting minutes.
ADMINISTRATIVE ITEMS
23-753 1. Activation of the Ad-Hoc Park Naming & Memorials Committee -
Staff recommends the activation of the ad-hoc Parks Naming &
Memorials Committee to review upcoming naming opportunities,
including the neighborhood park located at 17281 Eucalyptus Lane in
the Parkside Estates residential community. Additionally, the
Committee may review the trail known as Shipley-to-Shore in
Huntington Central Park for official naming.
Recommended Action:
a) Activate the Ad-Hoc Park Naming & Memorials Committee, as
recommended by staff.
b) Chair Edsell to work with staff on assigning three (3)
Commissioners to serve on the Committee until which time the
current projects are concluded.
23-754 2. Standardized Park Identification Sign Specifications - Staff is
recommending the approval of design specifications associated with
the standard concrete park identification sign. The object is to
standardize the design, language style, font type and materials used
for park identification signs throughout the City’s park system.
Recommended Action:
Approve the design specifications for standard concrete park
identification signs.

23-755 1. Meadowlark Golf Course Information - Attached to the agenda
packet is a staff memo outlining the efforts of the City and Lessee
with regard recent residential improvement requests.
2. CIP Review & Project Updates - Pattinson Park
3. Calendar of Events - Staff will provide a calendar of event for September and October for
Commissioners at the meeting.
