VILLAGE OF HUNTLEY POLICE COMMISSION MEETING April 9, 2021 GENERAL SESSION MEETING MINUTES CALL TO ORDER: On Friday, April 9, 2021, a meeting of the Village of Huntley Police Commission was called to order at 1:00 P.M. at the Municipal Complex, Village Board Room, 10987 Main Street, Huntley, Illinois 60142. This room is handicap accessible. PRESENT: Chairman Jim Burgess Secretary Judy Serrano Commissioner Dan Maloney Chief of Police Robert Porter Deputy Chief Michael Klunk Police Sergeant Scott Sullivan Chrissy Hoover, Human Resources Manager Evie Olech, Human Resources Assistant ABSENT: Deputy Chief Todd Fulton PUBLIC COMMENTS: None The general session meeting minutes of February 24, 2021 were reviewed. A MOTION was made to approve the February 24, 2021 General Session Commission Meeting Minutes. Moved: Secretary Judy Serrano Seconded: Commissioner Dan Maloney The Voice Vote noted all ayes and the motion carried. The Executive session meeting minutes of February 24, 2021 were reviewed. A MOTION was made to approve the February 24, 2021 Executive Session Minutes for content only. Moved: Chairman Jim Burgess Seconded: Secretary Judy Serrano The Voice Vote noted all ayes and the motion carried. Lateral Entry Discussion Chief Porter discussed the need for creating a Lateral Transfer Eligibility List due to the difficulty with recruiting and extended waitlists for the Police Academy. Sergeant Promotion Eligibility List Certification The HR Director presented the Sergeant Promotion Eligibility List to the Commission. A MOTION was made to certify the Sergeant Promotional Eligibility List. Moved: Commissioner Dan Maloney Seconded: Secretary Judy Serrano The Voice Vote noted all ayes and the motion carried. RECESS TO EXECUTIVE SESSION AT 1:05 P.M. THE GENERAL SESSION RECONVENED AT 1:20 PM A MOTION was made to Approve a Conditional Offer of Employment for Candidate Number One on the Current Police Officer Eligibility List if a position is available for the August Police Academy, or Candidate Number Three if Number One is No Longer Available. Moved: Chairman Jim Burgess Seconded: Commissioner Dan Maloney The Voice Vote noted all ayes and the motion carried. NEXT MEETING: TBD OTHER BUSINESS: Commissioner Dan Maloney expressed interest in having all Police Commissioners attend training in the fall if funds are available.
