Presentation, publiccomment,discussion,andpossibleaction toconsideracontractforthedesignandcontract administrationofway-findingsignagefortheCityofHuntsville. \[Dr.SherryMcKibben,NeighborhoodResources Director\] CouncilmemberHumphreymovedtoconsideracontractforthedesignandcontractadministration ofway-findingsignage fortheCityofHuntsvilleandwassecondedbyCouncilmemberOlson. CurtisRobertsoffd2s presentedotherprojects andconceptualplanningprocesseshiscompanyhadpursued (thefullpresentationisavailableontheCitywebsite). Councilmember BrauningerencouragedmoreincorporationofSamHoustonStateUniversity (SHSU) andmovedto postponetheitemtotheJuly15CityCouncilmeeting, followingameetingheandtheCityManagerwouldhavewithDr. Shieldsandwasseconded byCouncilmembers AllenandRodriquez. CouncilmemberAllenexpresseddispleasureinthe mannerofdividingtheproposalintophases. CouncilmemberRodriquezpraisedfd2s’proposalbutremindedthebodyof hisreasonsforopposingtheinitialamountconsideredforway-findingsignage. Themotiontopostponewasadopted, 6-2, CouncilmembersOlsonandHumphreyvotingagainst. b. FIRSTREADING Presentation, publiccomment,discussion,andpossibleaction toconsideradoptingOrdinance 2014-36,amendingChapter14BusinessandBusinessRegulations, ArticleIV,Pawnbrokers, tochangethehours ofoperationsofpawnshops,firstreading. \[ChiefKevinLunsford,DirectorofPublicSafety\] MayorWoodwardproposedtheitembeupdatedtocomeinlinewithstatelaw. ChiefKevinLunsford, DirectorofPublic SafetysaidtheDepartmentwasinsupport and hadagoodrelationshipwithlocalpawnshops. LeonardDavis ofEZ Pawn offeredhissupport,statinghefeltitwouldkeepmoneylocal. CouncilmemberHumphreyconfirmedtheupdateto theproposedordinancewouldstateaccordancewithstatelawratherthanstatingthecurrentspecificsinthecode. Noactionwastakenforthisfirstreading. 6.
