City Council Finance Committee

Finance Committee Minutes November 6, 2018 Members Present: Joe Rodriquez, Tish Humphrey, and Paul Davidhizar Staff Present: Steve Ritter, Brent Sherrod, Julie O’Connell, Aron Kulhavy The agenda items discussed were: • Approved minutes from the October 16, 2018 meeting with the correction to councilman Humphrey’s spelling of her last name. • Brent Sherrod discussed with the committee the disposal of various equipment used for street paving, specifically 3 large pieces, and the normal procedure that the city follows to deal with sale/disposal of used equipment. Brent indicated that the county was interested in buying the paver. The committee all came to the mutual agreement to sell the equipment at auction. • Julie O’Connell discussed retiree Post-65 healthcare and showed a PowerPoint presentation. The city has decided to offer 2 different plans in the FY 2019 to Post-65 Retirees; that allows the retiree to choose the best option for their particular needs. The retiree’s will be mailed out a letter about the 2 options. • The Budget Amendments were approved for presentation to Council at the next City Council meeting.
