Finance Committee Minutes July 16,2019 Members Present: Joe Emmett, Joe Rodriquez, Paul Davidhizar, and Tish Humphrey Staff Present: Steve Ritter, Aron Kulhavy The agenda items discussed were: • Approved the minutes from the July 2,2019 meeting. • Aron discussed the furniture, fixtures, and equipment costs for the new Prop 1 Police and Fire facilities. This committee has discussed this issue numerous times and staff is now presenting the formal budget amendment to move the monies. All agreed that they want to pay cash for these items and the fact that the City will save $690K in interest charges is great and is worth noting. Aron indicated that the City will be basically loaning ourselves the money from reserves and when the old police station sells in 3-4 yrs. the repayment will be placed back into the reserve funds. • Discussed the need for money to relocate the repeater at Fire Station #2 in the amount of $40K. • Both budget amendments will go to the full city council on August 6th.
