Staff: Tracy Chappell, Tammy Gann, Esme Mata, Sawyer
Guests: George Russell
Absent: Heike Ness, Gaye Clements, Sandra Gray
Chair Spencer called the meeting to order at 12:31pm.
Consideration and possible action on approval of January 17, 2020 minutes.
MOTION WAS MADE TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FOR January 17, 2020
CRIMM/BELCHER/UNANIMOUS
Main Street Coordinator Report: Chappell gave update on the following:
Install for new lamps is expected in May
Waiting on feedback from the THC on our annual accreditation report
Waiting on awards to be given for the Asphalt Art Grant – expected in March/April
Committee Reports:
Promotions Committee - planning for summer and fall events
DBA - starting plans for Wine Down Shop Small
Cultural District Committee - considering projects for grant applications
Chair & Vice Chair Election
Decision was made to hold off on voting until we have a full board present
Consider Life Safety and Historical Restoration & Improvements grants
MOTION WAS MADE TO APPROVE THE LIFE SAFETY AND HISTORICAL RESTORATION & IMPROVEMENTS

Discuss locations for murals and artwork in downtown
Discussion took place and focused on what types of beautification the board would like to see
downtown. If those things are art, what are they? The topic of underground utilities continued to be
mentioned as it has been added as an item on council’s strategic plan.
Public Comments:
George Russell spoke on the following items
Changing “University Ave” back to “Main Street”
He would like the downtown district to extend to his museums on University Ave.
There is a concern for sidewalk safety on University Ave near his museums
He would like his museums included and promoted in the city’s tourism efforts
