MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD MINUTES – June 19, 2020 1 Present: Helen Belcher, Laura Bruns, Gaye Clements, Sandra Gray, Michelle Lyons Staff: Tammy Gann, Tracy Chappell, Sarah Faulkner Guests: John Smither Absent: Cheryl Spencer, Heike Ness, Caroline Crimm, Weslie Gray Belcher called the meeting to order at 12:32pm. Consideration and possible action on approval of February 21, 2020 minutes. MOTION WAS MADE TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FOR FEBRUARY 21, 2020 LYONS/BRUNS/UNANIMOUS Main Street Coordinator Report: Chappell gave update on the following:  Sarah Faulkner joining as Ex Officio  Weslie Gray to replace Bert Lyle as he has joined City Council  Accreditation report and feedback from the state  Film Friendly Texas program and process  Huntsville First  Fire Marshalls will be making rounds downtown again  CenterPoint gas line project starting soon  12th St. grant project scheduled to begin July 6  Asphalt Art and Community Enhancement grants both on hold, moving forward with purchasing new banners  Still working to determine plans for fall events Committee Reports:  Promotions Committee – have not met since COVID  DBA – Sip & Shop event on second Saturday in June, July, and August  Cultural District Committee – have not met recently Consider Emily DeMilliano’s Historic Restorations & Improvements Grant MOTION WAS MADE TO REDIRECT THE PROJECT BACK TO THE HUNTSVILLE ARTS COMMISSION S. DISCUSS downtown improvements including facades of interest for the Historic Restoration & Improvements Grant 8. PUBLIC COMMENTS 9. ITEMS OF INTEREST - Hear announcements concerning items of community interest from the Board and City Staff for which no action will be discussed or taken 10.
