GOLF ADVISORY BOARD MEETING MINUTES TUESDAY, MARCH 14, 2017 7:00 P.M. ACTIVITY CENTER ATTENDANCE In attendance: M. Spraktes, T. Reinke, L. Rockwood, F. Sica J. Landon, T. Hersh, J. Freeman, G. Anderson APPROVAL OF MINUTES G. Lattimore motioned to approve the September 28, 2016 minutes. This motion was seconded by J. Freeman. All in favor and motion passed. DIRECTOR’S REPORT – G. WEITZEL G. Weitzel reported on the following:  A presentation given to the City Council by himself, T. Reinke, and some of the Golf Advisory Board members. The presentation consisted of a review of the last year, and the fee increase request to finance a new fleet of cars for Sand Creek golf course.  The application that was submitted for the Water Smart grant.  A donation by Lamar advertising.  The Corporate Charity Golf Events/Sponsorship Opportunities booklet.  Website Improvements, including the new drone flyovers.  T. Reinke being recognized for “PGA Merchandiser of the Year”, and Kevin Kavran being recognized as “Coach of the Year”. NEW BUSINESS – R. CAROSONE R. Carosone began the discussion on the General Policies and Conditions. There were comments from the board members regarding golfers starting on the 10th hole without permission and the problem with five-some’s and possible solutions. STAFF REPORTS Women’s Association – L. Rockwood L. Rockwood reported on the following:  1. The Women’s Opener is scheduled for April 24th, and league play begins the first Tuesday of May. Working Women’s Association – A. Anderson (Not Present) Men’s Association – P. Hahn P. Hahn reported on the following:  The Men’s Association dinner will be held on March 27th and they will be giving away two passes.  The mailer list for members.  The first tournament will be held April 1st at Sage Lakes followed by a tournament at Pinecrest in mid-May. Senior’s Association – J. Veeneman J. Veeneman reported on the following:  April 11th will be the sign-up date for the Seniors Association.  The league starts on April 13th, and plays every Thursday morning.  The schedule is published and on the website. Junior Association – F. Sica F. Sica reported on the following:  The “Golf with a Kid” program in which older golfers will mentor younger golfers by golfing with them for 9 holes a week. This program will be geared towards young golfer’s ages 12 to 15 years old. Manager of Golf Operations – T. Reinke T. Reinke reported on the following:  Tim showed the slide show that was also presented to the City Council.  The sponsorships that will include tee-rock advertisement sales and cart signs.  The café and new workers (Café Mike, LLC). The café is waiting for their state license. Staff Reports – No reports due to time restraints. Motion was made to adjourn by F. Sica at 8:30 p.m. and seconded by P. Hahn. All were in favor.
