Minutes:
The November 15th meeting minutes were provided to the group by email. Laurie motioned to approve
the meeting minutes and Teddy seconded his motion.
Treasurer’s Report: Membership fees are due by January. Fees are $25 for one student and $35 for
multiple students in the same family. Please bring your payment to the next meeting.
The previous balance was $7602.54. The current balance is $7638.23. Expenses were $100.00 in seed
money for the Paramount fundraiser. Income was $135 in dues and $0.69 in dividends.
Paramount Fundraiser: The discount card sales before Thanksgiving did not do as well as hoped. There
was a Black Friday sale on one of the dates so we cancelled sales for 11/24 after the first session. We
have scheduled additional sales for 12/22 and 12/23. The following people have signed up to help with
sales.

Winter Carnival Fundraiser: The rest of the meeting was spent planning our ice skating fundraiser on
January 30th from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The ice skating sessions will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
to 10 p.m. and the cost will be $5 per person or $25 per family for a single session or $7 per person or
$35 a family for both sessions. We will us wrist bands to tell who has paid for which session. Melinda
will donate the wrist bands.
Costume Contest: After much discussion and a student vote, the group decided not to have a costume
contest.
Advertising: Ness provided a poster for the group to use for advertising. She will take out the costume
contest, modify the session times, and add a note stating that funds will be used for the Sister Cities
groups. Ness will update the poster and David Archer or David Eaton will get the poster to the city.
Misty and David Eaton decided on the number of poster to print. They will ask the city to print 20
smaller posters and 10 large posters. A pdf file of the poster will be sent to the group. Melinda will put
up a Facebook event with information from Misty.
Music Mix: Ness will get mix of popular Japanese and American music to use during the skating. David
Archer will check with the city about the music format.
Games: The group decided to have a four or five games/activities and not charge for games. Some of
the activities will have a Japanese theme. Teddy volunteered her older daughters to help with origami.
Kendra asked anyone with game ideas to get them to her.
Food: Whitney volunteered to coordinate food. The group will keep it simple and members volunteered
to donate food and bring necessary items for warming food and water. Whitney will send out a list of
items she needs and items people have agreed to bring.
iPad Raffle: The group decided on a raffle ticket price of 1 for $5 and 5 for $20. Melinda will get tickets
and bring them to anyone who wants to sell the tickets in advance.
Volunteers: Whitney will get more information from the leads and send out a list of areas where she
need volunteers. She would like to have everyone help with set-up and clean-up if possible.
Decorations: David Eaton will talk with Ed about getting Koi to use to decorate the ice rink. David
Archer will check with the city about decorating the rink. David will also ask about the possibility of using
the laser light show.
Motion to adjourn was made by Victoria and seconded by Rebecca.
