Introductions:
Introductions of four new members.
Approval of minutes:
April 15, 2019 meeting minutes requires a correction on the meeting date with the correction of May
13th from from May 15. Lori Kidwell motioned to approve April 15, 2019 meeting minutes (with date
corrected) and seconded by Melinda Cebull.
Reminder:
Idaho Falls Sister City Youth next meetings are scheduled for May 13 and June 5, 2019 at 7:00 at the
Idaho Falls Public library.
Request for City Funds:
David Eaton sent a letter to the Idaho Falls City to request funds. More information will be given at
the next meeting.
Fundraiser:
Ticket sales from the Cherry Blossom Festival was approximately $1,800. In addition to the ticket
sales donations were also given to the IFSCY. At a later date Snow Eagle Restaurant will let the group
know the amount of money it will be donating to the IFSCY.
Flour is donating $1,000 to the IFSCY.
The Treasurer will give a report at the May 13th meeting.
Garage Sale is scheduled for May 18, 2019. Kendra Peck volunteered to have her garage be used
for storage of items for garage sale (May 17th). The garage sale will be held at Kendra’s house. David
Eaton will contact Nancy Thorsden and ask for a clothes rack.
Volunteers are needed on May 17 to set up and on May 18th volunteers are needed to take a shift
during the garage sale. Sign up sheets for the above will be sent around at the next meeting. It was
suggested that for some items it may be better to sell them on Craig’s list.
A note will be sent to the adult group about the garage sale. David offered to pick up items and take
them to the garage sale if requested.
Friendship Garden Clean up Reminder:
The Friendship Garden Clean up is scheduled for May 4th at 3:00 pm weather permitting.
Student Exchange:
Whitney St. Michel stated that the students from Tokai-Mura will arrive here on July 25, and leave
August 6, 2019. Tokai Mura students that will be coming over will be announced soon. There will be 15
students and three chaperons coming to Idaho Falls. Whitney suggested that Idaho Falls families who
are willing to host students or chaperons submit a Host Family Preference Form at the next meeting or
as soon as possible after that.
A draft (proposed) schedule was given to each family in attendance. The schedule will be discussed
at the next meeting. Volunteers are needed for each activity each day.
If a family hosts a student in their home the family gets two (2) points per day.
Andrew Nakashima stated that he will volunteer to be a translator when he is able to and when
needed (during the July 25 to August 6) time period.
Student exchange planning will be discussed in detail at the next meeting-May 13.

David will report on this at the May 13th meeting.

Update on the banner will be given at the May 13th meeting.

Kendra Peck motioned to that the meeting be adjourned and seconded by Nathan Peck.
