Call to Order
K. Jones called the meeting to order at 11:10am.
Approval of Minutes
The July 6th, July 13th and July 20th minutes were tabled due to a lack of a quorum.
Director Updates – P. Holm
P. Holm reported on the following:
• Infinity Security cancelled their contract on July 26th. P. Holm has been making calls, and
our options are: Top Flight Security, Blue Line Security, or the Idaho Falls Police
Department. He has spoken with Keith at Blue Line Security who will work up a quote.
The direction P. Holm is heading in right now is to have a combination of Blue Line Security
and two Idaho Falls officers work nightly.
• P. Holm and Catherine Smith met with Echo (tribal business council spokesperson), and
she gave them the blessing to move forward to delete a tribal business council person
from the War Bonnet Committee. P. Holm will take his recommendation to appoint
Shelby Woolstenhulme, our current tribal contact, to City Council.
• The national anthem singers are confirmed and ready to go.
• P. Holm is waiting to hear from T.J. Korkow on whether he will allow his stock horses to
roam the arena while the tribal dancers and drummers perform.
• T.J. Korkow was able to indemnify with the PRCA’s insurance requirements meeting our
rodeo insurance needs.
Chair Report/Production – K. Jones
K. Jones reported on the following:
• The PRCA has been dealing with ransomware, which means that when the re-entries open
July 28th, the final counts will take some time to receive. There could be delays with the
day sheets and getting info to our rodeo announcer.
• She confirmed whether everyone had looked at the perf logs and if there were any change
requests.
• Shirt colors for which nights were reviewed. Polos will be worn for the Wednesday night
Kick-Off.
• K. Jones reviewed the meeting notes from last August’s Good, Bad, Ugly meeting. It
appears we have remedied any problems we had during the 2022 rodeo.
Committee Reports
Military Affairs/American Legion – B. Skinner
B. Skinner reported on the following:
• B. Skinner and E. Grossarth completed the contestant rifle engraving template.
Sportsman’s Warehouse has the guns, and the engraver will be finished by rodeo time.
E. Grossarth will make a poster to hang in the rodeo secretary’s trailer so that contestants
can see the prize.
• He is still working on getting the surprise military guest 100% confirmed.
• He confirmed which flags will be used. He will bring the service flags.
Vice Chair/Hospitality/Sponsorship – K. Staten
K. Staten reported on the following:
• Lisa Voight (Brooklyn’s mother) called, and the family was thrilled to find out that
Brooklyn’s picture is on our Saturday ticket.
• K. Staten confirmed staff arrival times for the qualifier along with a-frame signs, water,
road cones, candlesticks, a generator, etc.
• She is using CoorsTEC to make signs if anyone else needs some made.
• She is getting a Can-Am side by side and whoever is driving it will need to sign a waiver.
• The flyover is being cancelled as the owner is raising prices at the last minute.
Marketing-Advertising /Tickets – R. Buchan
R. Buchan reported on the following:
• Current online ticket sales are as follows: Thurs – 459 adults/115 kids, Friday – 470
adults/83 kids, Saturday – 707 adults/78 kids.
• R. Buchan will be sending out another newsletter to try and boost the Mutton Bustin’
registrations.
Facilities & Grounds & Security – J. Stephens
J. Stephens reported on the following:
• The facility is ready to go, and the hospitality tent is going up now.
• He confirmed when the stock contractors are showing up.
• A compost area for the contestants has been made and flagged.
• He needs to know where to put the dancer platforms. It was decided to have the dancers
come out of the bucking chute area.
Communications/Public Information – E. Grossarth
E. Grossarth reported on the following:
• The Press conference e-mails are being sent out. He will need the stick horses and barrels.
• He will send out another press release on the Mutton Bustin’ Qualifier.
• The day sheets will be updated July 28th.
Youth Rodeo/Family Night – C. Horsley (absent)
Financial Report – C. Price (absent)
Livestock Welfare – B. Robertson
B. Robertson reported on the following:
• B. Robertson confirmed the following: Hay, wrist bands for his staff, bullfighters for
youth rodeo and barrel setters.
Outreach – T. Fonnesbeck
T. Fonnesbeck reported on the following:
• He has obtained the Champ’s Heart Presentation that we will be displayed on the big
screen while the group walks the arena.
• He will be assisting Champ’s Heart Wednesday morning.
• He needs the pic and bio for the Volunteer of the Year.
