Call to Order
K. Jones called the meeting to order at 11:04
Approval of Minutes
B. Skinner motioned to approve the July 18th minutes. K. Staten seconded. All in favor.
Director Updates – P. Holm
P. Holm reported on the following:
• He suggested a couple of changes to the website regarding the arena map.
• He is working on the F&Qs for the web and volunteers. He also handed out his draft to
the board members so they can check for any errors on the contact information.
• There was discussion on the reserved seating.
• Contracts are all in except for Volstar. He’s had trouble contacting Brad Higbee.
• The yard signs and Koozies will be delivered this weekend to the golf courses.
Chair Report/Production – K. Jones
K. Jones reported on the following:
• She proposed moving slack to Wednesday next year for our kickoff event, which would
then replace the need to produce a mini youth rodeo.
• K. Jones will be out of town Monday thru Wednesday during rodeo week.
• Production is just about ready to go.
• Cowboy entries will reopen on Friday, July 26th.
Committee Reports
Tribal Relations – S. Woolstenhulme
S. Woolstenhulme reported on the following:
• She has obtained eight signed contracts for the dancers and is expecting two more.
• The drum group is confirmed.
• Tribal Council Chairman Lewan will be dancing the first night. There will be one tribal rep
to ride in the truck with Mayor and Council.
• The proof of the tribal video will be completed as of this date.
• She needs a tent for the dancers to get dressed in. K. Staten will provide it.
Military Affairs/American Legion – B. Skinner
B. Skinner reported on the following:
• This year’s military segment will feature a heavy duty armored military vehicle instead of
the Humvee. It will carry four military officials.
• He will get a list of Legion concession workers to R. Buchan for those workers that may be
arriving late.
Vice Chair/Hospitality/Sponsorship – K. Staten
K. Staten reported on the following:
• The Tundra is confirmed for the barrel racing truck.
• There was a discussion on flags including the WPRA and Man Up flag.
• K. Staten needs a list of any last-minute rental needs.
• She confirmed the tent locations.
• She is making a few adjustments to the rodeo week schedule.
• Burritos will be in the contestant tent Thursday morning for slack.
• She confirmed with members the time for the director’s group photo.
• Shirts have been delayed by FUEL’D. The company has not completed the work in a timely
manner.
• There was a discussion of alternatives to the stock saddle rider.
Marketing/Advertising/Tickets – R. Buchan
R. Buchan reported on the following:
Ticket sales to date:
Thursday: 520 Reserved, 142 GA, 35 kids
Friday: 807 Reserved, 198 GA, 33 kids
Saturday: 883 Reserved, 433 GA, 76 kids
• Ticket sales are picking up for Thursday.
• She will be sending out another newsletter Friday, July 26th
• There are no more refunds or ticket exchanges as of this date.
Facilities & Grounds & Security – J. Stephens & J. Moad
J. Stephens reported on the following:
• T. Smith is getting the parking lot lined.
• IT has been out at Sandy Downs getting things ready.
• J. Moad confirmed the Coors tent measurements.
• J. Moad confirmed the tractor arrival date.
Communications/Public Information – E. Grossarth
E. Grossarth reported on the following:
• He is working on the day sheets.
• He will send the Legends video to K. Jones following the meeting.
• E. Grossarth suggested we drop the first names of the Wright Brother’s in our
communications so there is no misunderstanding on which Wright Brother is competing.
• The programs are being printed right now in Colorado.
• He will send K. Jones the Media Day information.
Youth Rodeo/Family Night – C. Horsley
C. Horsley reported on the following:
• Registration numbers for our youth rodeo are as follows:
1. 57 mutton bustin riders.
2. 6 shoot doggers.
3. Steer riding is full.
• He also gave a list of the games that will be available for the kick-off event.
Finance – C. Price (absent)
• C. Price e-mailed the current financial report.
Livestock Welfare – B. Robertson
B. Robertson reported on the following:
• Confirmation of the names of judges.
• Confirmation of the stock and feed arrival dates. He also advised he will assist on those
delivery dates.
• Confirmation on the chute boss and shirts for staff.
• Confirmation on the sound system for break-a-way.
• He confirmed that his men will help with the mini bulls.
Outreach – T. Fonnesbeck (absent)
