Iowa CoTony.’Texas 77583 281-369-2471 Phone * 281-369-0005 Fax EmaIl: kwacolony@skyncthowton.com * Website: www&,. -a—- ---- -a STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF BRAZORIA CITY OF IOWA COLONY BE IT REMEMBERED ON THIS, the 15th day of January, 2018, the City Council of the City of Iowa Colony, Texas, held a work session at 6:00 p.m. and regular Council meeting at 7:00 p.m. at the regular meeting place thereof in the City Hall there being present and in attendance the following members to wit: Mayor Michael Holton Councilwoman Susan Cottrell Councilwoman Robin Bradbery Councilman Chad Wilsey Councilwoman Kacy Smajstrla Councilman Michael Byrum-Bratsen And none being absent, constituting a quorum at which time the following business was transacted. WORKSESSION — 6:00 P.M. 1. Mayor Holton called to order at 6:00 P.M. 2. Consider action regarding future development policies and processes. Ron Cox discussed various topics related to development for consideration by Council. 3. Adjourned at 7:25 P.M. REGULAR MEETING — 7:00 P.M. 1. Mayor Holton called meeting to order at 7:25 P.M. 2. Pledge of Allegiance was recited. 3. Citizens Comments: None 4. Mayor’s Reports: Mayor Holton reported the pipeline activity. Working with precinct No. 2 on roads that were delayed by Harvey. ESU making changes to tire and EMS. 6. Council Reports: • Councilman Wilsey reported on CR81 drainage. • Councilwoman Smajstrla reported that the City Hall sign needs to be addressed. • Councilwoman Bradbery reported that the trees on the corner of Ruth Road and FCR 57 had been trimmed and the pot holes had been filled. • Councilman Byrum-Bratsen presented the Fire Department report. Stated they are looking for volunteers. • Councilwoman Cottrell thanked staff. 7. Staff Reports: • PD report. • Building Inspector report. • City Manager report. • City Engineer report. • Beautification Committee gave no report. • City Secretary report. 8. Consider action to approve an ordinance calling the election of officers for May 2018, and contract with the County for joint election. Councilman Byrum-Bratsen moved to approved the ordinance calling the City Council election for 2018. Seconded by Councilwoman Bradbery. Approved unanimously. 9. Consider action to enter into an agreement to accept a cash contribution for ball fields from the Manvel-lowa Colony Lions Club. Councilwoman Cottrell moved to approve the agreement with Manvel Iowa Colony Lions Club. Seconded by Councilman Byrum- Bratsen. Approved unanimously. 10. Consider action on an ordinance to request a specific use permit for a church at 8607 County Road 48. Councilwoman Bradbery moved to grant the 5pecific use permit for a church at 8607 County Road 48. Seconded by Councilman Wilsey. Approved unanimously. 11. Consent Agenda: • Consider action regarding the following consent agenda items. A. Consider approval of minutes of the December 18, 2017 City Council Meeting B. Accept and approve the following infrastructure and authorization for release of surety o Meridiana Section 64 for the one-year maintenance period - Acceptance of streets and drainage - Approval of water and sewer infrastructure C. Approve a partial reimbursement of the early plat deposit for Sierra Vista sections 1 and 2. D. Approve engagement of Whitley Penn for the 2017 audit services. E. Approve the annual interlocal agreement with Brazoria County for road work. Councilman Byrum-Bratsen moved to approve all items as presented. Seconded by Councilwoman Cottrell. Approved unanimously. 13. Being no further business, Councilwoman Cottrell moved to adjourn at 8:01 p.m. Seconded by Councilwoman Bradbery. Approved unanimously. APPROVED THIS DAY OF 2018.
