BE IT REMEMBERED ON THIS, the lO day of September, 2018, the City Council of
the City of Iowa Colony, Texas, held a Public Hearing on the Budget for the Fiscal Year
Beginning October 1, 2018 at the regular meeting place thereof in the City Hall there
being present and in attendance the following members to wit:
Mayor Michael Holton
Councilwoman Susan Cottrell
Councilwoman Robin Bradbery
Councilman Michael Byrum-Bratsen
Councilman Chad \Vilsey
Councilwoman Kacy Smajstrla being absent, constitutinE a quorum at which time the
following business was transacted.
PUBLEC HEARING
1. Mayor Holton called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
2. Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
3. Mayor Holton opened the public hearing at 7:01 p.m. on budget for the fiscal year
beginning October 1,2018. This budget will raise more total
property taxes than last year’s budget by $94,674 or
16.58%, and of that amount, $210,845 is tax revenue to
be raised from new property added to the tax roll this
year. There were no comments from the public. Mayor Hollon closed the public
hearing at 7:07 p.m.
4. Meeting was adjourned.

THIS NOTICE IS POSTED PURSUANT TO THE TEXAS OPEN MEETING ACT
(CHAPTER 551) OF THE TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE. THE CITY COUNCIL OF IOWA
COLONY WILL HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE BUDGET AT 7:00 P.M. ON
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2018, AT IOWA COLONY CITY HALL, 12003 IOWA
COLONY BOULEVARD (FCR 65) IOWA COLONY, TEXAS FOR THE PURPOSE OF
DISCUSSING AND IF APPROPRIATE, TAKE ACTION WITH RESPECT TO THE
FOLLOWING ITEMS.
This facility is wheelchair accessible and accessible parking space5 are available.
Requests for accommodations or interpreter services must be made 48 hours prior
to this meeting. Please contact the City Secretary at 281-369-2471.

3. Hold public hearing on budget for the fiscal year beginning October 1,2018.
THIS BUDGET WILL RAISE MORE TOTAL PROPERTY
TAXES THAN LAST YEAR’S BUDGET BY $94,674 OR
16.58%, AND OF THAT AMOUNT, $210,845 IS TAX
REVENUE TO BE RAISED FROM NEW PROPERTY
ADDED TO THE TAX ROLL THIS YEAR.

was posted pursuant to the Texas Open Meeting Act (Chapter 551 of the Texas Government
