Petri - page 1 of 1 23 APRIL 2018 Mayor Pete Muldoon and Jackson Town Council Attn: S. Bitdyshaw, Town Clerk 150 East Pearl Avenue P0 Box 1967 Jackson, VVY 83001 Dear Mayor Muldoon and the Jackson Town Council, Please accept this letter as my official application for one of the two additional seats available on the Town of Jackson’s Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment. After graduating from the University of Colorado Denver with a master’s degree in architecture in 2010, I moved to Jackson, Wyoming, where I have been living and working as an associate architect for the past eight years. As an architect in the community, I see how important it is for our elected officials and the Planning and Zoning Commission to make well informed, measured, and sometimes difficult decisions for the betterment of our community based upon the parameters set Abigail Petri forth in the LDRs. I believe that my professional and personal experiences will bring a 125 Pine Drive beneficial perspective to the board. PD Box 8413 As an associate at GYDE Architects (previously Gilday Architects and E/Ye Design), I Jackson, WY 83001 have been directly involved in a number of public and private projects in Teton County including Vertical Harvest, Persephone Bakery, Community Street Furniture, and the (203) 650-1054 Atlas Cell Tower, among other commercial and residential projects. ap@gydearchitects.com Personally, my husband and I recentlyworked with town planning staff andthe board of adjustment on three variances that we applied for in order to redevelop our home at 125 Pine Drive. We were awarded these variances, and look forward to working on our project in the coming year. More importantly however, I learned a great deal about the specifics of the LDRs, the process through which variances and other forms of relief are reviewed and how the board functions in meetings. , I have also actively taken part in the Engage 2017 campaign, and have attempted to give honest, constructive feedback and answers regarding zoning, parking, and housing issues. I hope that my contribution alongside many others will give staff and the council direction as how to best plan for our growing and changing community. I would welcome the opportunity to serve on the Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment alongside the existing board members as well as the other new member. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions about my experience and qualifications as they relate to this position. Sincerely, Abigail P ri Gale - Page 1 of 2 Gale - page 2 of 2
