CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS REGULAR PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING OCTOBER 12, 2020 6:34 P.M. – 6:40 P.M. OPENING REMARKS: The Planning Commission of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas met in a regular session on October 12, 2020. Chairman Stroud opened the meeting at approximately 6:34 p.m. expressing appreciation to those in attendance. Council Member Dietz offered the invocation. Others present on Zoom for the meeting were Public Works Director Jim Oakley, City Attorney Friedman, Engineering Tech Mylissa Griggs, Petitioner Representative Aaron Robinson of Bond Engineering. ROLL CALL: Commissioners William Montgomery, Mike Dietz, Billy Hall, Vivian Brittenum, and Jeff Twitty answered ROLL CALL. Chairman Mark Stroud also answered roll call and declared a quorum. PRESENT (5) with Chair, ABSENT (3). One seat open. CORRECTION AND/OR APPROVAL OF MINUTES: The September 14, 2020 Regularly Scheduled Planning Commission minutes will be presented with October Regularly Scheduled Planning Commission minutes. PUBLIC HEARING(S): REQUEST TO APPROVE PLAT(S): PRELIMINARY PLAT Jaxon Terrace PH 15 Mr. Aaron Robinson of Bond Engineering related this is the next phase of the Jaxon Terrace Subdivision. He explained that this phase will extend Rope Trail where phase 14-A was just completed. He noted that there is a large detention pond being constructed to serve this Subdivision. He stated that there will be several lots in the next phase which will adjoin the new lake. He then related that the sewer plan has been approved, the water will be reviewed by the Water Commission in two weeks, and the Health Department has already approved both the water and sewer. He added that they have answered all questions put forth by the Engineering Department. Engineering Tech Mylissa Griggs confirmed that Mr. Robinson has satisfactorily address any aforementioned concerns. She stated that the City will need a contingency based on acceptance by the Water Department at their Commission meeting on the 28th. Commissioner Brittenum moved, seconded by Commissioner Twitty to approve the preliminary plat of Jaxon Terrace PH 15 contingent upon acceptance by the Water Department. MOTION CARRIED.
