Forestry Committee

Minutes Forestry Committee 4-11-24 The meeting was called to order at 3:34 p.m. Roll was called. Laurie Podoll, John Zvirovski, Dennis Gransee, and Erik Laber were present. There was no address from the public. John moved to approve the minutes of the 1-11-24 meeting, Laurie seconded, passed. New business discussed included: - The forester gave a general update on the activities of January, February, and March of 2024. - There was discussion on the Jamestown Arbor Day to be held this fall. Locations suggested included Gussner Elementary School and the High School. It was suggested that we have it on the 2nd or 3rd Friday of September. Old business included: - It was decided to have the thank you for Tex planting to be a tree planted at the frontier village if possible, and to have the planting ceremony on May 3rd (ND Arbor Day) in the afternoon. The forester and Laurie would make some calls and firm up the details. - Ordinance Review was discussed. Laurie and John will email Erik on this topic until sometime in June when they can meet in person sometime mid-week. No other business was discussed. The motion to adjourn was made by Dennis, was seconded by Laurie, and passed. The meeting was adjourned at 4:30 p.m.
