City Council

JANUARY 16, 2018 The Jerseyville City Council met in regular session on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. at the Jerseyville City Hall. ROLL CALL: Present were Commissioners Steve Pohlman, Gary Goetten, Kevin Stork, Richard Perdun and Mayor Bill Russell. Also present was City Attorney, Bill Strang. Comm. Pohlman led the opening prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. A motion was made by Comm. Stork, and seconded by Comm. Goetten, to approve the minutes of the last regular meeting January 2, 2018. Roll call vote showed all ayes, no nays, motion carried. A motion was made by Comm. Stork, seconded by Comm. Perdun, to approve the bills as presented which totaled $383,920.94. Roll call vote showed all ayes, no nays; motion carried. A motion was made by Comm. Pohlman, seconded by Comm. Stork attendance of a Jim Meszaros at ATTENDANCE AT THE AWWA the AWWA Conference in Springfield, IL, March 20-22, 2018. Roll call vote showed all ayes, no nays, CONFERENCE IN SPRINGFIELD motion carried. A motion was made by Comm. Stork, seconded by Comm. Perdun, to approve a donation to the FFA DONATION TO FFA FOR $250 Foundation Collection Drive in the amount of $250. Roll call vote showed all ayes, no nays, motion carried. A motion was made by Comm. Perdun, seconded by Comm. Pohlman, to approve the extension JEM AGREEMENT EXTENSION TO agreement with JEM Fire Protection Assoc for fire protection services between the City of Jerseyville APRIL 30, 2018 and JEM, through April 30, 2018 for an annual payment to the City of $27,000. Roll call vote showed all ayes no nays, motion carried. A motion was made by Comm. Stork, seconded by Comm. Perdun, to approve an Ordinance amending ORD #1719 Title 1, Chapter 7 adopting a new Article C, entitled a Policy Prohibiting Sexual Harassment. Roll call A POLICY PROHIBITING SEXUAL HARASSMENT vote showed all ayes, no nays, motion carried. ORD#1719. With no comments from the public, a motion was made by Comm. Stork, seconded by Comm. Perdun, CLOSED SESSION to go into closed session to discuss personnel and litigation. Open session resumed and a motion was RESUME OPEN SESSION made by Comm. Perdun, seconded by Comm. Stork to adjourn the meeting. Roll call vote showed all ADJOURN ayes, no nays, motion carried.
