JOHNSON SKATEPARK & BIKE TRACK COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
JOHNSON MUNICIPAL BUILDING / REMOTE ATTENDANCE BY ZOOM
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 8, 2025
Present:
Committee Members: Casey Romero, Howard Romero, Alexis Daniels, Greg Fatigate
Absent: George Swanson
Note: All votes taken are unanimous unless otherwise noted.
1. Call to Order
Casey called the meeting to order at 5:31.
2. Minutes of September 3, 2025
Howard moved to approve the minutes of September 3, 2025, Alexis seconded and the motion was
passed.
3. Directors’ Orders
Casey said directors’ orders totaled about $500. They included some equipment and a grant-funded
purchase of mulch.
4. FEMA: Concrete Project Update
Casey said she learned from the email she shared from Tom Galinat that the town has talked to FEMA
about requesting an extension. We are waiting for an answer.
5. Grant Work: Manny Pad & Security Camera
Casey said she found out that a Ring camera system won’t work because we don’t have wifi at the
skatepark. She has been looking at game cameras. These days they come in two types. One type has
its own limited memory. A good one will only record 12 hours and then it erases itself. That would
not work without a person to monitor it. An employee at Tractor Supply recommended the other type,
which requires that we subscribe and pay for storage. The subscription could cost $50-100 a year.
We have not been able to find anyone to build the manny pad frame. Geoff Hall is supplying the
Skatelite. Maybe if he has time he would be able to come and build the whole manny pad. If it is okay
with the committee, she will ask him. Committee members agreed to that.
6. Laraway Report
Casey said George would email a report to be included with the minutes. The report was:
Students will be gleaning pumpkins this week at the school along with making apple cider. There
have been field trips apple picking. There will be a fall festival on the 31 st at the school. Students
have been busy renovating the greenhouse getting ready for next Spring!
7. Site Maintenance Work, Water Line & Recent Issues
Casey said she and Howard have been exchanging information with Tom Galinat and they now have a
plan for the water line work. We are still missing one central piece of equipment Tom was going to
get.
8. Other Business
Greg asked if we have we explored looking for additional committee members. Casey said she hasn’t
done anything about that. Alexis said she has tried. The committee agreed to advertise for members on
Front Porch Forum and the town website. Casey said she would circulate the notice to mothers of kids
that were in the Let’s Roll program.
9. Adjourn
Greg moved to adjourn at 5:45, Alexis seconded and the motion was passed.
