JOHNSON SKATEPARK & BIKE TRACK COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES JOHNSON MUNICIPAL BUILDING / REMOTE ATTENDANCE BY ZOOM WEDNESDAY, MARCH 11, 2026 Present: Committee Members: Casey Romero, Howard Romero, Alexis Daniels Others: John Sutherland Absent: Greg Fatigate, George Swanson Note: All votes taken are unanimous unless otherwise noted. 1. Call to Order Casey called the meeting to order at 5:32. 2. Minutes of February 11, 2026 Alexis moved to approve the minutes of February 11, 2026, Casey seconded and the motion was passed. 3. Directors’ Orders & FY27 Budget Update Casey said the only bill was for meeting minutes. The town budget passed, including the skatepark budget. 4. Laraway Report George emailed to say that he had tried unsuccessfully to connect by Zoom. He submitted the following report via email: Quick rundown at Laraway: students sugaring started this week. Students are receiving math and science credit documenting the complete process from tree identification to the chemical composition and entering information on spreadsheets. Sugaring has started off slow but Laraway is all ready. We had a visitor: a moose decided to visit the school garden area. Many staff and students had their first live view of one! We are still fruit tree pruning and planning the garden season! 5. FEMA: Concrete Project RFP & Other Updates John said the RFP for the concrete project is out. Casey said bids are due in the first week of April. The selectboard will award a contract at its meeting on the first Monday in April. John said we have to have the Act 250 amendment completed before then. He got a response from the people reviewing our administrative amendment application. They want a site plan showing the limits of disturbance or detailed construction plans for the bowl. We need to check whether permits related to stormwater or flood hazards are needed. 6. New Committee Member Outreach Casey said she advertised for new members today on Front Porch Forum. 7. Upcoming Selectboard Agenda Item re: Recreation & Parks Planning John said the selectboard had a discussion on this at its last meeting. They talked to all the committee representative that were there. They didn’t make any decisions. 8. Water Line, Other Site Issues Casey said she will talk to Greg Fatigate, who does excavation work, to let him know the water line project is coming up in the spring. John asked how long the section of water line is Skatepark & Bike Track Committee Meeting Minutes p. 2 March 11, 2026 that needs to be put in. Howard said at least 30 ft. Casey said we need to start talking soon about what needs to be done. It needs to go before the selectboard. 9. Other Business Casey said she connected with Seamus Hernandez, the college student who did site maintenance last year. He is considering options for summer and will make up his mind by the weekend. She also reached out to high school student Jimmy Yousey and asked if he was interested in repeating his summer job from last year, which was to check on the park and report on conditions. He said he wants to do it. Alexis asked if she should also post on FPF about our need for new committee members. Casey said that would be good. Casey asked if John has found it easy to access records and communication from previous town administrators. John said he has access to the files. It is just a matter of going through them. 10.
