JOHNSON TUESDAY NIGHT LIVE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
OLD MILL PARK, JOHNSON VT
TUESDAY, JULY 9, 2025
Present: Howard Romero, Tim Mikovitz, Sophia Berard, Charles Flaum, Geoff Hollis, Tom Moog, Tom
Carney, Lois Frey, Don Garrett, Isabelle Sullivan
Note: All votes taken are unanimous unless otherwise noted.
The meeting started about 5:10.
Committee members discussed what has been done for publicity. Lois put the TNL events on the Seven
Days calendar. Posters have been put up in various locations.
The group walked the field and decided where the bandstand, vendors and canopies should go. Howard
can provide 3 canopies. One will be for kids’ face painting, one will be for the trash station and one for
the TNL committee. Jasmine Yuris can provide supplies for a kids’ bubble making station if someone can
be found to run it. Someone is providing cornhole. Isabelle will provide kickballs and kids can play
kickball by the backstop.
There was discussion about how to handle parking. It was suggested that one person should be at the
entrance to the park telling people where to go. Tom said he will periodically patrol Railroad Street. It
was agreed that one parking lot should be blocked off with sawhorses until the other one is full. Tom and
Howard said they can help with parking if needed. Tom can provide some cones.
Howard said the sheriff’s department will have deputies there. There will also be an ambulance.
There will be a total of 3 portalets. It was agreed that 2 of them should be placed near the corner of the
parking lot by the playground.
Howard said there are 120 parking spots, not counting roadside parking. It was agreed that the committee
should put out the message that people are encouraged to carpool. Howard said one parking lot will hold
32 cars. The other will hold 37, but the TNL committee will be using some of the spaces, so there may be
about 30 open spaces. There are 18 spaces by the rail trail, 22 by the lower storage building and 20 where
the town stores rocks and soil. The sheriff’s deputy said people should park on just one side of Lendway
Lane. Howard will cover existing No Parking signs there. Howard asked the selectboard to allow parking
in the sand and salt area if needed. Donna said they don’t want to allow that. They feel it would be too
dangerous because kids would climb on the sand. Charles suggested asking if people can park at Jenna’s
Promising Goods.
Charles asked if anyone has a clicker to get a head count. Sophia said she thinks she does. If she can find
it she will bring it.
Howard shared the report he got from Rosemary about cash on hand. We have about $10,220. We still
need to pay the bands and Johnny Betts and pay for the radio ad. We don’t have enough money on hand at
this point for all those expenses, but we will get money from the raffle and we don’t have all the vendor
fees yet.
Tom said he thinks he can bring a couple of people to help.

Charles, Howard and Sophia all said they can bring chairs. Charles said he could bring a table. Sophia
said she could bring the oven committee’s table. Howard said Tom Galinat said the town could provide
tables.
Howard said a couple of people are working on painting the new signs that are needed. It was agreed to
work on putting up signs on Sunday. Tom said if it isn’t done by Monday he can help then.
Charles said he reached out to the drone operator again about getting a flyover for a headcount.
It was agreed that committee members will take turns as MC during the evening.
Charles said he and Howard had discussed announcing the raffle at the beginning of the night, having half
the raffle right before the show starts and then having the last raffle about 2 songs before the end.
Tom suggested telling people to bring cash because there is no internet, but Howard said there is a phone
signal and we can use Venmo.
There was discussion about where to put the signs directing people to Old Mill Park.
It was agreed that nothing special needs to be done to handle end of show traffic.
Geoff suggested that everyone bring a flashlight.
The meeting ended at 6:25.
