City Council Emergency Addendum to the July 20, 2023 Agenda

EMERGENCY ADDENDUM TO THE JULY 20, 2023, JOSHUA CITY COUNCIL AGENDA The following emergency addendum is hereby posted for the Thursday, July 20, 2023, City Council meeting at 6:30 p.m.: This Emergency Addendum to the Joshua City Council’s July 20, 2023, Agenda is posted as an Emergency Amendment pursuant to Texas Government Code Section 551.045 as a result of the filing of federal litigation (including claims for damages and injunctive relief) against the City in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Dallas Division, and the City’s enforcement of health, safety and welfare ordinances, the failure of enforcement of which may result in or creates or may create an imminent threat to the public health, safety and welfare or create an urgent public necessity for action to address such threat. The previously posted July 20, 2023, City Council meeting agenda is hereby amended by adding the following emergency addendum to the City Council agenda: J. EXECUTIVE SESSION *** 2. In accordance with the Texas Government Code, Section 551.071 (Consultation with City Attorney), to consult with the City Attorney and to deliberate newly filed federal court litigation, Zeng v. City of Joshua, Texas, et al., Civil Action No. 3:23-cv-1570-D, pending in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Dallas Division, and the enforcement of City public health, safety and welfare ordinances relative thereto, and all matters incident and related thereto.
