MINUTES ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW COMMITTEE DATE: Tuesday, June 23, 2020 @ 7:30 AM Kalispell City Hall, 201 1st Ave E MEMBERS PRESENT: Julia Pierrottet; Janet Clark; Mark Pirrie; John Hinchey; Cara Lemire; Susanne Wigginton; Sarah Turner OTHERS PRESENT: City Staff – PJ Sorensen, Rachel Ezell # of Guests: 2 Hear the Public: None Approval of Minutes: Susanne noted that the minutes should be amended to say “Susanne moved to approve”. Susanne moved to approve the June 9 minutes as amended; Janet seconded (approved 6-0). New Business: Building Permits: Signs: Northwest Drywall – 1105 E. Oregon; freestanding sign located at south entrance along E. Oregon. There was discussion about distance of the sign from the ROW and property boundaries. John moved to approve; Susanne seconded (approved 7-0). Old Business: Sherwin Williams – 430 Cascade Loop; new retail store. Ned with Jackola presented the elevations and landscaping and provided material samples of the building. There was discussion about screening the utilities which will be visible on or by the building. Sarah moved to approve with the condition that utilities be screened; John seconded. John moved to amend the motion to add consideration for trash door enclosures to match the aesthetic of the building, either black metal or cedar-like wood (preference for wood tones); Janet seconded. (Approved 7-0). The main motion to approve the project with conditions was approved 7-0. Other Discussion: Rachel gave the board updates on the timeline of the project and the board discussed potential boundaries for the district. Meeting Adjourned @ 7:55 AM
