MINUTES ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW COMMITTEE DATE: Tuesday, May 25, 2021 @ 7:30 AM Kalispell City Hall, 201 1st Ave E MEMBERS PRESENT: Julia Pierrottet; John Hinchey; Sarah Turner(zoom); Cara Lemire(zoom); Susanne Wigginton; Robin Spear OTHERS PRESENT: City Staff – Rachel Ezell # of Guests: 1 Hear the Public: None Approval of Minutes: Susanne moved to approve the May 11, 2021 minutes; Susanne seconded (approved 6-0). New Business: Signs: Crown Room – 710 E Idaho; sign face replacement and electronic reader board. Susanne moved to approve; Robin seconded (approved 6-0). Encompass Health – 42 Bruyer Way; sign face replacement on multi-tenant sign. Committee feels the entire sign is worn out and putting this newer looking sign insert makes it look even more worn out. Julia pointed out they are only approving the sign insert and not the entire sign. Sarah moved to approve w/ the consideration that the word “hospice” be removed or changed to be more legible; Cara seconded (failed 4-2). Board does not like the white background, feel it should be a more neutral background, so it flows better with the other sign inserts. After more board discussion Susanne made a motion to reconsider the original decision; Robin seconded (approved 5-1). John moved to approve with the condition that an attempt is made to design the sign to be more in line with the surrounding signs in regard to the background color; Robin seconded (approved 6-0).
