Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 9:00 AM Minutes In-Person in Common Council Chambers, City of Kaukauna Chairman Moore called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. 1. Roll Call Members Present: Karl Kilgas, Leon Vanevenhoven, John Moore, Quin Lenz, Nicci Sprangers, Julie Schroeder Absent: Heather Hayes Other(s) Present: Director Kittel, Associate Planner Nelson, Dan Meissner Kilgas made a motion to excuse the absent members. Seconded by Vanevenhoven. The motion passed unanimously. 2. Approval of Minutes a. Approve Minutes from July 17, 2025 Kilgas made a motion to approve the minutes from July 17, 2025. Seconded by Vanevenhoven. The motion passed unanimously. 3. Old Business None 4. New Business a. Certificate of Appropriateness – 301 W 7th Street Associate Planner Nelson presented the request for a Certificate of Appropriateness for the planned addition to the building located at 301 W 17 th Street. The material to be used for the façade is stone veneer and LP Smartside. The owners of the property are not planning on updating the façade of the current structure at this time, but plan to at some point in the future. Moore asked for confirmation that the materials shown in the memo are accurate to what will be used. Meissner, the architect for the project, confirmed that the materials are accurate. They will be using earth tones for this project. He said he can bring in the materials to be used at a later date to show RACK. Some minor discussion was had on the overall scope of the project as approved by the Plan Commission and Common Council.  Schroeder asked if the façade materials to be used on the addition are similar to the façade materials on the existing structure. Meissner stated that the colors and texture will be similar and complimentary, but not identical. Once funds are available, the existing façade will be updated as well. Vanevenhoven made a motion to grant a Certificate of Appropriateness to 301 W 7th Street for the project as proposed. Seconded by Lenz. The motion passed unanimously. 5. Other Business None 6.
