NOTICE OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF KEARNY Monday, November 20, 2023 at 7:00 PM Council Chambers open to the public at 6:30 PM Kelly Haddad Administration Building, 355 Alden Road, Kearny, AZ The Agenda for the meeting is as follows: 1. PUBLIC HEARING - PROPOSED INCREASES TO GARBAGE AND TRASH COLLECTION FEES This is the time for citizens who would like to address the Town Council specifically regarding the proposed increases to the Town of Kearny's garbage and trash collection fees in 2024. 7. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE APPROVAL OF AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE TOWN OF KEARNY AND THE ARIZONA BOARD OF REGENTS FOR AND ON BEHALF OF ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY TO ENABLE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS AND FACULTY TO COLLABORATE WITH TOWN OFFICALS AND STAFF ON VARIOUS ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL, AND ECONOMIC IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS. i. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE APPROVAL OF AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE TOWN OF KEARNY AND THE ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE REGARDING THE ADMINISTRATION, COLLECTION, AUDIT, AND/OR LICENSING OF TRANSACTION PRIVELEGE TAX, USE TAX, SEVERANCE TAX, JET FUEL EXCISE AND USE TAXES, AND RENTAL OCCUPANCY TAXES IMPOSED BY THE STATE, TOWN, AND OTHER ARIZONA MUNICIPALITIES. i. Council Letter No. 2124 ii. Town of Kearny Intergovernmental Agreement with the Arizona Department of Revenue 9. INFORMATION ITEMS A. Town Management has approved an agreement with the Copper Basin Chamber of Commerce to use Alden Road for the 2023 Light Parade and Winter Wonderland on December 16th. The agreement also includes the use of Pioneer Park on March 7-10, 2024 for the annual Pioneer Days celebration. i. Chamber Events Use Agreement  B. Town Management has approved an agreement with the Kearny Little League for use of the ballparks located at 1153 Emery Drive during the 2024 Little League season. The agreement also covers the use of the ballparks during Pioneer Days (March 7-10, 2024) and Little League Baseball Camp (dates to be determined). i. Kearny Little League Use Agreement 10. ADJOURNMENT The Mayor and Town Council may require an Executive Session pursuant to ARS Section 38-431.03 for consultation with Staff and Counsel for discussion and advice for any of the above matters, personnel matters and real estate.
