COMMON COUNCIL COUNCIL CHAMBERS-CITY HALL JULY 16, 2024 -7:00 P.M. The Common Council of the City of Kendallville met in regular session July 16, 2024 at 7:00 P.M. Roll call was answered by: Mayor Lance Waters, Council Member Amy Ballard, Attorney Jacob Atz, Council Member Tara Streb, Council Member Christopher McCreery, and MYAC Member Melissa Smith. Council Member Corey Boese and Council Member Shari Targgart were absent. Others present were: Brandy Roberts, John Dixon, Jeremy McKinley, Jim Dazey, Doug Atz, and Brett Slone. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance. MINUTES/ MEETING Minutes from the July 2, 2024 Common Council meeting were presented for review. Council Member Tara Streb made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Christopher McCreery. The motion passed 3 ayes – 0 nays. PETITIONS OR COMMENTS No petitions or comments were given. ENGINEERING The June 2024 Solar Field Report was submitted for review FIRE The June 2024 Fire Report was submitted for review PARK The July 8, 2024 Park Board minutes were submitted for review POLICE The June 2024 Police Report was submitted for review OLD BUSINESS General Ordinance #1267/ Stop Intersections E. Grove Street- 2nd Reading Council Member Amy Ballard requested the reading of General Ordinance #1267 in its entirety. Attorney Jacob Atz read General Ordinance #1267 in its entirety. Council Member Amy Ballard made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Tara Streb. The motion passed 3 ayes- 0 nays. General Ordinance #1268/ Prohibited Parking/ W. Mitchell Street- 2nd Reading Council Member Amy Ballard requested the reading of General Ordinance #1268 in its entirety. Attorney Jacob Atz read General Ordinance #1268 in its entirety. Council Member Amy Ballard made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Tara Streb. The motion passed 3 ayes – 0 nays. General Ordinance #1269/ No Parking Here to Corner/ Multiple Locations- 2nd Reading Council Member Amy Ballard requested the reading of General Ordinance #1269 in its entirety. Attorney Jacob Atz read General Ordinance #1269 in its entirety. Council Member Amy Ballard made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Tara Streb. The motion passed 3 ayes – 0 nays. General Ordinance #1270/ No Parking Here to Corner/ Prospect Avenue- 2nd Reading Council Member Amy Ballard requested the reading of General Ordinance #1270 in its entirety. Attorney Jacob Atz read General Ordinance #1270 in its entirety. Council Member Amy Ballard made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Tara Streb. The motion passed 3 ayes – 0 nays. General Ordinance #1271/ Rescind Handicap Parking/ S. Oak Street- 2nd Reading Council Member Amy Ballard requested the reading of General Ordinance #1271 in its entirety. Attorney Jacob Atz read General Ordinance #1271 in its entirety. Council Member Amy Ballard made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Tara Streb. The motion passed 3 ayes – 0 nays. ALLOWANCE OF BILLS AND CLAIMS Council Member Amy Ballard presented bills and claim numbers 77050 through 77168 for $1,222,658.92 for approval. Council Member Amy Ballard made a motion to approve the bills and claims with a second by Council Member Tara Streb. The motion passed 3 ayes-0 nays. MOTION TO ADJOURN Mayor Lance Waters made a motion to adjourn the meeting with a second from Council Member Tara Streb.
