COMMON COUNCIL COUNCIL CHAMBERS-CITY HALL https://www.kendallvillein.gov/recordings JUNE 16, 2026 -7:00 P.M. The Common Council of the City of Kendallville met in regular session June 16, 2026, at 7:00 P.M. Roll call was answered by: Council Member Amy Ballard, Council Member Corey Boese, Council Member Shari Targgart, Attorney Jacob Atz, Council Member Tara Streb, and Council Member Christopher McCreery. Mayor Lance Waters was absent. Others present were Katie Ritchie, Scott Derby, Brian Strange, Patrick Howell, Jeremy McKinley, Luke Ballard, Jacob Patrick- St. John School, Kevin Dressler, Patrick Howell, and John Dixon. Council President Amy Ballard led the meeting in leu of Mayor’s absence. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance. MINUTES/ MEETING Minutes from June 2, 2026, Common Council meeting was presented for review. Council Member Christopher McCreery made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Tara Streb. The motion passed 4 ayes – 0 nays. PETITIONS OR COMMENTS No petitions or comments were given. FIRE The May 2026 Fire Report was presented for review. POLICE The May 2026 Police Report was presented for review. NEW BUSINESS General Ordinance #1283/ Prohibited Parking, Establishment of Loading Zone at St. John School- 1st Reading Council Member Corey Boese requested the reading of General Ordinance #1283 in title only. Attorney Jacob Atz read General Ordinance #1283 in title only. Council Member Corey Boese made a motion to approve with a second from Council Member Shari Targgart. Council Member Tara Streb mentioned that prohibited parking for drop off is only in the morning and asked if prohibited parking was needed in the afternoons after school was over and Jacob Patrick told the board that pick up after school took place in the parking lot in the back of the school for the safety of the students. The motion passed 4 ayes – 0 nays. ALLOWANCE OF BILLS AND CLAIMS Council Member Tara Streb presented bills and claim numbers 82304 through 82401 for $1,552,642.82 for approval. Council Member Tara Streb made a motion to approve the bills and claims with a second by Council Member Shari Targgart. Clerk Treasurer Katie Ritchie told the board that the amount is relatively higher due to the sewer bond payment that was over $500,000.00. The motion passed 4 ayes – 0 nays. MOTION TO ADJOURN Council Member Tara Streb made a motion to adjourn the meeting with a second from Council Member Shari Targgart. Council Member Amy Ballard adjourned the meeting at 7:04 P.M. ________________________________________ Kathren R.
