Present: Kevin Jansen, President; Dave Button; Tom Jansen; Kara Hand; Dawn McGahen, Recreation Director and Jim Pankop, Park Director. Also present Rick Kiersey, IS Coordinator. Public Comments: None were given. Minutes of the meeting of April 13, 2020 were approved as presented. (T. Jansen/Button) Claims were reviewed and approved as presented. (Hand/T. Jansen) Directors Report: Highlights 1. Reviewed the Appropriation Reports from the Clerk Treasurer for April 2020. 2. Reported that Fire Chief Jeremy McKinley has turned in the Park and KORC lost revenue thru the end of April due to COVID-19. 3. Informed the Board that Bixler Lake water testing starting on 5/4/2020. 4. The Board was given an update on projects that are underway. Vacation Extension for Jim Pankop was approved for 140 hours. (Button/T. Jansen) Maintenance Report: Highlights 1. Continued turning on winterized water services and repairing problems. 2. Spread out picnic tables stored in pavilions. 3. Started to mow grass on 4/20/2020 4. Completed the painting of the Tennis Court fence frame. Kendallville Outdoor Recreation Complex Update: Reported that top soil has been added to many areas and seeded to grass along with many bare areas being over seeded. The first fertilization has been completed and maintenance work on all 8 infields is underway. Recreation Update: 1. Dawn reported that the tentative start date for Camp Wethonkitha will be June1st. She also mentioned that there are many procedures that are being discussed to make the camp experience as safe as possible. 2. Dave commented that the park looked great. Tom mentioned that there are a large number of baby geese. Kevin thanked Dawn for the cheerful smiley face May Day project.
