Diane Peachy, Skatepark. Public Comments: None were given. Minutes of the meeting of December 14, 2020 were approved as presented. (Nartker / Button) Claims were reviewed and approved as presented. (Blackman / Zollman) Diane Peachy, representing the skatepark enthusiasts informed the Board that quotes for soil borings are being sought for the Sunset Park pavilion site. Two quotes have been received and they are waiting on a third. The Board thanked Diane for her work on this project. Directors Report: Highlights 1. The Board learned that Youth Center rentals were down $1,587.00 and Skate Night income was down $488.65 in 2020. Both due to Covid-19. 2. The Board approved an additional $1,200.00 toward improvement to the Sunset Restroom building. (Button / Zollman) 3. Informed the Board that poles and flags for each branch of service may be added to the Veterans Memorial. 4. Reported that the Annual Report for the Kendallville Park and Recreation Department will be finished soon. 5. Work continues on an Endowment Grant for the KORC. Maintenance Report: Highlights 1. Finished security system installation at the Park Maintenance Building. 2. Removed decals from the truck acquired from the Fire Department. 3. Cleaned up Park after tree work with help from the Street Department. The tree work is about half done. 4. Completed repair and painting of 35 picnic tables. 5. Started painting project at the Youth Center. 6. Took down Christmas Card Drive-thru. 7. Helped Street Department with snow removal. 8. Started to clean up Park after ice and snow storm. Working on the Annual Report so we can complete it and disperse it soon. 2. Working on a Dekko Foundation Grant for the ORC Endowment. 3. Gearing up for summer camp, theme weeks are done. Working on field trips, accreditation and other aspects. Acceptance of Donations: (Nartker / Blackman) ❖ Recreation o Christopher and Sasha Frazier - $200.00 Board Input: Jennifer Blackman thanked Jim Pankop for giving her a tour of the Park. She was surprised to find out how much land the Park Department has. Dennis Nartker made a motion to adjourn at 6:52pm.
