Kendallville Park and Recreation Department 211 Iddings StreetKendallville, Indiana 46755 Phone (260)347-1064 BOARD MEETING MINUTES November 10, 2025 6:30PM Present: Tracy Tipton, President, Dave Button, Jeni Ekovich, Dennis Nartker, Dawn McGahen, Park Director, and Brian Brennan. Public Comments: None were presented. Minutes of the October 20, 2025, meeting was approved. (Button, Ekovich) Claims were reviewed and approved as presented. (Nartker, Button) Directors Report: 1. We are working on end of the year purchase and transfers. 2. Have ordered and will pick up and plant trees to replace dead ones within the park system. 3. Had a report of vandalism in the park. The police arrested the man responsible. Maintenance Report: 1. Continue to mulch, pick up limbs and also ground out stumps from trees removed. 2. Shut off water and winterized concessions, bathrooms and the campground. 3. Fixed the west beach building that was damaged during the hailstorm. 4. Picked up fire rings and picnic tables. 5. Continue to groom the beaches, pulled the raft and ropes in for the winter. Recreation Report: 1. The Halloween event at the campground turned out nice and we are looking at ways to expand it next year. 2. The Christmas Greetings Drive-thru has over 60 boards out getting painted. 3. The park will participate in the Kendallville Christmas Parade. Kendallville Outdoor Recreation Complex: 1. The Pumpkin Bowl was held and well received. 2. The last tournament was held the first weekend in November and had around 20 teams participated. 3. Concessions have been winterized. Both Pepsi and Hossinger Refrigeration came out and took care of the fountain machines and ice machines. Acceptance of Donations: (Nartker,Ekovich) Christmas Greetings Drive-thru: Big C Lumber, Material Donation-$200.00 Larry & Phyllis McGahen-$100.00 Max Platt Ford Lincoln Inc.-$100.00 Park Non-reverting: Gene Wible Revocable Trust-$26,186.75 Board Input: Dennis asked if the park department staff was helping the street department with plowing, he was told that we are when needed. Jeni said that she would be willing to help with the Christmas float and parade. Tracy asked about the mulch from grinding the tree stumps and if we could utilize it. Adjournment: 6:49pm.
