Kendallville Advisory Plan Commission Meeting Minutes September 14, 2020 Council Chambers-City Hall 7:00 PM President Rick Kiersey called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. MEMBERS PRESENT: Amy Ballard-7:06, John Blume, Dave Button-7:10, Lisa Cordial, Regan Ford, Todd Hanes, Rick Kiersey and Larry Weber. MEMBERS EXCUSED: Michael Fitch STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT: Dave Lange, Interim City Planning and Zoning Director. and Lori Jansen, Attorney for the Plan Commission. REVIEW OF PREVIOUS MINUTES: Regan Ford made a motion to accept the minutes as written. Todd Hanes 2nd the motion. Motion passed. PETITIONS AND COMMENTS: None REPORT OF OFFICERS AND COMMITTEES: None Old BUSINESS: Amendment to Zoning Code - Crematory modifications Dave Lange told commissioners the Public Hearing announced in the newspaper as submitted to the Plan Commission. Public Hearing: Opened/Closed Discussion of Members: John Blume said with the Crematory not being allowed in Agricultural zoning according to the new modifications he would be in favor of Ordinance 1205. Dave Button commented lenders would have trouble financing a special exception. John Blume made a motion to give Ordinance 1205 of Zoning Code as amended, not being permitted in agricultural, with a special exception being permitted in C2A and being permitted in Industrial 1-2, a favorable recommendation to City Council. Dave Button 2nd the motion. Motion passed New Business: Discussion of Bylaws Dave Lange told commissioners there are a few things that need to be cleaned up as the last time anything addressed was 1971. Lange said in order to get the Pledge of Allegiance in the Bylaws, there would be a filing fee and amendments would need to be sent to City Council 1st. A Subcommittee was formed to address the issues consisting of Todd Hanes, Amy Ballard, Regan Ford and Lori Jansen. John Blume made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Amy Ballard 2nd the motion.
