September 25, 2013 Page 1 of 2 Keyport, New Jersey Minutes of the Special Meeting of the Mayor and Council, Borough of Keyport, held on the above date in the Borough Hall Council Chambers, Keyport, N.J., pursuant to the notice that was sent to the Asbury Park Press, Independent, Two River Times and Newark Star Ledger and posted on the Bulletin Board in accordance with the Open Public Meeting Act, P.L. 1975, Ch. 231. Mayor Aumack called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM and Borough Clerk Heilweil read the Sunshine Law Notice. ROLL CALL On Roll Call the following were present: Councilmembers Sheridan, Lamberson, Toglia (arrived at 7:01PM), Howe and Mayor Aumack. Others present: Borough Administrator, Lorene Wright. Borough Attorney Gordon Litwin Esq. Absent: Tomczak and McPeek PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE/MOMENT OF SILENCE CONSENT AGENDA (All resolutions listed hereunder are considered to be routine in nature and will be enacted in one motion. Any person may request that an item be removed for separate consideration.) R318-13 Authorizing the Purchase of a Police Radio and Dispatch Telephone Recording System Under State Contract R319-13 Authorizing the Purchaseof two (2) HP Compaq Pro 6300 Microtwoer Business PC Under State Contract Borough Clerk Heilweil read resolutions on Consent Agenda. PUBLIC COMMENT PORTION The Meeting is opened to the public for comments or questions on items listed on the agenda Opened: 7:02PM made by Sheridan, carried by Howe with ayes by all Ed Burlew, 59 West Front Street – stated he will hold his comments until the next regular meeting. Closed: 7:03PM motion made by Sheridan, carried by Lamberson with ayes by all APPROVAL OF RESOLUTIONS Motion on the Consent Agenda made by Toglia, second by Sheridan Roll Call: Ayes: Sheridan, Lamberson, Toglia, Howe Nays: Absent: Tomczak, McPeek Abstain: COMMUNICATIONS AND PETITIONS 1. Letter from Keyport VFW Post 4247 requesting the use of Borough picnic tables to be delivered on Friday, October 4, 2013 for their annual picnic to be held on October 5, 2013 Two other groups, American Legion and the Knights of Columbus have already requested use of the tables for that date. KBBC does have some plastic picnic tables. Motion made to receive and file by Sheridan, carried by Lamberson with all ayes present. September 25, 2013 Page 2 of 2 Keyport, New Jersey CLOSED SESSION Motion made to go into Closed Session at 7:08PM made by Sheridan, carried by Toglia Roll Call: Ayes: Sheridan, Lamberson, Toglia, Howe Nays: Absent: Tomczak, McPeek Abstain: R 320 -13 - Closed Session Resolution: Personnel: Police Department Grievance Hearings Motion made by Sheridan, carried by Toglia with all ayes present 11:58PM motion made by Sheridan and carried by Toglia to return to open Borough Attorney summarized: 1. Original resolution adopted 9/17/13 was discussed before hearing grievances. This resolution has nothing to do with the grievance. It was simply to ask Council to ratify the wording of this revised resolution. Motion made by Howe, carried by Lamberson with all ayes present 2. Council has listened to three hours of testimony and will consider that testimony. A decision will be rendered within the 20 day period. ADJOURNMENT Motion to adjourn at 12:02AM made by Howe, carried by Toglia with all ayes present.
