COMMUNICATIONS BY CONSENT
(For Approval)
1. Letter from Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners regarding a 2021 Department of
Community Affairs LEAP Implementation Grant. A sample resolution and shared services agreement is
also attached.
2. Email from Arts Society of Keyport with an update on July 24th Arts Walk activities and inquiring
about having live musicians near public art sites.
3. Letter from Knights of Inferno Firefighter/Military Motorcycle Club requesting Keyport Police
Department Assistance during their September 11th Memorial Motorcycle Run on Sunday, August 22, 2021
(rain date: Sunday, August 29, 2021).
4. Letter from Prevention Coalition of Monmouth County requesting to display purple flags from
August 16 through August 31 in observance of International Overdose Awareness Day. Also requesting that
August 31 be declared Overdose Awareness Day by Proclamation and that flags be flown half-staff.
5. Letter from Keyport-Matawan Elks #2030 requesting to close Chingarora Avenue between W. 4th
and Route 35, and Maple Place between W. 4th to the dead end for a previously approved event to be held on
August 28, 2021 from 11AM to 6PM.
6. Keyport Recreation Committee 2021 Field Permit Application from Central Sports
Association/Central Jersey Softball requesting to use Cedar Street Park field and lights two days per week
between September 1 and November 1, 2021.
7. Keyport Recreation Committee Program & Activity Planning Summary requesting to hold a Skate
Jam event at the Skate Park on Saturday, September 18, 2021 between 12 noon and 4PM (set up at 11AM
and cleanup at 4PM). Also requesting closure of Butler Street, four tables, six chairs and two pop up tents.
8. Application for membership in Raritan Hose Company from Eric Hicks (subject to State approval)
and notification that at the September 9, 2020 meeting the membership accepted the resignation of David
Atkins as an active member. Also included is an email from firefighter Joseph Biagianti advising of the
replacement of Tom Falcone to Eric Hicks on the Raritan Hose Company roster.
