City Council

COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS The City Council of the City of Knoxville, Iowa convened in a joint work session with the Knoxville Public Library on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. in the Municipal Building council chambers. Mayor Brian Hatch presided and the following Council members were present: John Gotta, Dylan Morse, Dawn Rankin, Jyl DeJong and Megan Suhr via Zoom. The following staff members were present: City Manager Heather Ussery, City Clerk Tricia Kincaid, Library Director Roslin Thompson, Community and Economic Director Glenn Lyons and Marilyn Arber. Library Board President Lindsay Carlson presented to council on behalf of the library board the ongoing issues with the Dixie Gebhardt House and possible proposals moving forward. Several members of the community spoke on their concerns and the history of the home. Also in attendance were members of the Historical Society. Council did state they would like to see what the cost would be to move the home, cost for demolition, cost for a park, updated cost for repairs. Glenn Lyons stated he could put together an expression of interest as an option also. Motion by Rankin seconded by Gotta to adjourn at 6:29 p.m., all ayes.
