PARKS COMMITTEE MINUTES July 20, 2026 at 4:00 PM Kronenwetter Municipal Center - 1582 Kronenwetter Drive Board Room (Lower Level) 1. CALL MEETING TO ORDER Trustee Aaron Myszka called the July 20, 2026 Parks Committee Meeting to order at 4 p.m. A. Pledge of Allegiance Those in attendance were invited to stand and recite the Pledge of Allegiance. B. Roll Call PRESENT: Trustee Aaron Myszka, Trustee Dan Lesniak, Patty Tikalsky, Elizabeth Vedvik, Doris Brockman, Tim Strachota, Teresa Holewinski STAFF: Public Works Director Greg Ulman, Fire Chief Theresa O’Brien, Clerk Jennifer Poyer 2. PUBLIC COMMENT 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES C. June 29, 2026 Parks Committee Meeting Minutes Motion by Tikalsky/Vedvik to approve the minutes of the June 29, 2026 Parks Committee Meeting. Motion carried by voice vote. 7:0. 4. NEW BUSINESS D. Buska Park Renovation Project Update No action taken. Public Works Director Ulman gave an update in regards to park grants and having bricks with donors’ names integrated into the renovation. E. Wausau & Marathon County Parks & Recreation Foundation Fund Grant Motion by Tikalsky/Myszka to accept the $5,000 match to match the grant we are receiving. Motion carried by roll call vote. 7:0. Public Works Director Ulman provided information on the grant awarded to the Village. He answered budgetary questions from the committee. F. Post Village Parks Tour Discussion The committee members discussed their recent parks tour and their observations of Municipal Park, Towering Pines Park, Buska Park, Friendship Park and Seville Park. They discussed possible projects at each par which included installing public restrooms; removing sand; additional benches and tables; installation of a shelter; removal of dugouts and outdated equipment; updating playground equipment; addressing ADA issues; walking paths; community gardens; skate park; and little libraries. Public Works Director Greg Ulman was directed to create and present to the committee a list of park improvements and their costs. G. August 21, 2026 Concert at Towering Pine Fundraiser Event Motion by Tikalsky/Lesniak to ask the Village Board for up to $2000 from the community events so we can make a fundraiser event that people come to and we can raise funds. Motion failed by roll call vote. 1:6. Voting yea- Tikalsky. Discussed the possible event details including t-shirts; musician; routes; entry cost; sponsors; and staff involvement. H. September 12, 2026 Buska Park 5K Run/Walk Fundraiser Event Prepared by Jennifer Poyer. Approved on August 3, 2026. Page 1 of 2  Motion by Vedvik/Holewinski to request the Village Board approve this as a Village event. Motion carried by roll call vote. 7:0. Discussed event details including sponsors; family attractions; food; donation opportunities;costs and musical group. I. Creating a “Friends of the Kronenwetter Parks” Support Group Item will be discussed during the next meeting. 5. CONSIDERATION OF ITEMS FOR FUTURE AGENDA  Possible dog park at Norm Plaza Park  Possible disc golf course at the Wellhead land  Water access point (Gardner Park or Nelson Roads)  Bench placement along walking trails  5K event specifics  Discussion of future Village events 6.
