POLICE AND FIRE COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES
June 02, 2025 at 5:00 PM
Kronenwetter Municipal Center - 1582 Kronenwetter Drive

1. CALL MEETING TO ORDER
Clerk Dianne Drew called the June 2, 2025 Police and Fire Commission meeting to order at 5 p.m.
A. Pledge of Allegiance
Those in attendance recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
B. Roll Call
PRESENT: Commissioner Doug Schemmel, Commissioner David Forsythe, Commissioner Chet
Rucinski, and Commissioner Lucene Udulutch
STAFF: Fire Chief Theresa O’Brien and Clerk Dianne Drew
ABSENT: Commissioner Rick Smith
2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
C. Motion by Forsythe/Udulutch to approve the 02/24/2025 meeting minutes and dispense with
the reading. Voting Aye: Commissioner Schemmel, Commissioner Rucinski, Commissioner
Udulutch, Commissioner Forsythe.
3. PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
4. NEW BUSINESS
D. Election of Police and Fire Commission President and Vice President.
Motion by Forsythe/Udulutch to elect Doug Schemmel as the president of the Police and Fire
Commission. Commissioner Schemmel accepted the nomination. Voting Aye: Commissioner
Schemmel, Commissioner Rucinski, Commissioner Udulutch, Commissioner Forsythe.
Motion by Rucinski/Udulutch to elect David Forsythe as the vice-president of the Police and
Fire Commission. Commissioner Forsythe accepted the nomination. Voting Aye:
Commissioner Schemmel, Commissioner Rucinski, Commissioner Forsythe, Commissioner
Udulutch.
President Schemmel took over leadership of the meeting.
E. FIRE DEPARTMENT: FULL MEMBERSHIP RECOMMENDATIONS.
Discussed with Fire Chief O’Brien David Levorson’s status in the Kronenwetter Fire
Department.
Motion by Forsythe/Udulutch to accept David Levorson as a full member of the Kronenwetter
Fire Department. Voting Aye: President Schemmel, Commissioner Rucinski, Vice President
Forsythe, Commissioner Udulutch.
F. Discussion and possible action after review of the Selection Process for Hiring Fire Department
Members.
Reviewed and discussed current Selection Process for Hiring Fire Department Members. No
changes made to current document.
5. ADJOURNMENT
Motion by Forsythe/Udulutch to adjourn the June 2, 2025 Police and Fire Commission meeting.
Voting Aye: Commissioner Rucinski, President Schemmel, Commissioner Udulutch, Vice President
Forsythe.
Meeting adjourned at 5:15 p.m.

Please be advised per State Statute Section 19.84(2), information will be received from the public. It is the
policy of this Village that Public Comment will take no longer than 15 minutes with a three-minute time
period, per person, with time extension per the Chief Presiding Officer’s discretion. Be further advised that
there may be limited discussion on the information received, however, no action will be taken under public
comments.

D. Election of Police and Fire Commission President and Vice-President
E. FIRE DEPARTMENT: FULL MEMBERSHIP RECOMMENDATIONS: Discussion and possible action to
accept David Levorson as a full member of the Kronenwetter Fire Department, after completion of his
probationary period.
F. Discussion and possible action after review of the Selection Process for Hiring Fire Department
Members.
