CALL TO ORDER Chair Baron called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. 1.1 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 1.2 ROLL CALL All Commissioners present and quorum met. 2. ADDITIONS AND/OR DELETIONS TO THE AGENDA There were no additions or deletions to the agenda. 3. CURRENT BUSINESS 5.1 APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FOR THE LA MESA COMMUNITY PARKING COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING HELD TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2026 The Minutes from the La Mesa Community Parking Commission Regular Meeting held Tuesday, February 17, 2026, were approved by a 4-0 vote. Chair Baron abstained. 5.2 COIN-ONLY PARKING METER REPLACEMENT PROJECT UPDATE Assistant to the City Manager Lyn Dedmon provided an update that the new parking meters are tentatively scheduled to be installed on Lemon Ave. the week of March 23rd. 5.3 WORK PLAN ITEM #6 - EXPANSION OF PARKING DISTRICT ONE AND RECOMMENDATIONS TO INCREASE PARKING SUPPLY The Commission discussed parking recommendations and the expansion of the district. Potential recommendations provided by Assistant to the City Manager Lyn Dedmon and Commissioner Bougie were reviewed and discussed. After reviewing and discussing the potential recommendations, the Commission voted 5-0 to make the following recommendations: • Analyze the following streets to determine if adding parking T’s will increase parking supply. Conduct outreach to residents as needed. If parking spaces can be increased and residents support, implement recommendation. o To be determined at next meeting • Pursue reciprocal parking agreements with businesses at the following addresses that may have a surplus of private parking in Parking District One. Only pursue if no parking funds are utilized. In addition, encourage or incentivize businesses with surplus parking to provide public parking. o 4719 Palm Ave. o 4630 Palm Ave. 2 Page 5 of 6  • Analyze the feasibility of changing on-street parallel parking on La Mesa Blvd. west of Acacia Ave. to Normal Ave. to angled on-street parking. If the number of parking spaces can be increased, implement recommendation. • Add one full-time Downtown Operations Assistant to enhance parking enforcement. • Implement no overnight parking in all city-owned municipal parking lots. • Expand Parking District One to the boundary of the Downtown Village Specific Plan boundary. 6. STAFF AND COMMISSIONER ANNOUNCEMENTS Chair Baron updated the Commission that he plans on attending the next few meetings but will then be resigning from the Commission. 7.
