CURRENT BUSINESS 5.1 DISCUSS THE PURPOSE OF THE SUBCOMMITTEE, CLARIFY ITS ROLE IN COLLABORATION WITH THE PUBLIC ARTS COMMISSION, AND ESTABLISH GOALS AND EXPECTATIONS TO ENHANCE THE CITY'S PUBLIC ART PROCESS 1 Page 4 of 5  The La Mesa Public Art Subcommittee wants to have upfront involvement with location and art selection to enhance the city's visual appeal and cultural identity through public art. 5.2 REVIEW AND DISCUSS THE CITY’S EXISTING PUBLIC ART POLICY, IDENTIFY AREAS FOR SUBCOMMITTEE INVOLVEMENT IN THE DECISION-MAKING PROCESS, AND ESTABLISH A FRAMEWORK FOR ITS ROLE IN PUBLIC ART APPROVALS The subcommittee provided direction to staff, including revising the policy to grant the subcommittee involvement in location and artist/artwork selection. 5.3 REVIEW AND DISCUSS THE ARTIST TO WORK REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS Provided direction to staff.
