Minutes of the Regular Meeting
April 26, 2022
1. A meeting of the Youth & Family Action Committee was called to order by Chair
Robin Carder at 6:30 p.m.
2. Executive Board Members present:

3. Review of Minutes Minutes for the March 2022 meeting were approved
with an amendment correcting Vice Chair Crosby
calling the meeting to order.
4. School Resource Officer Administrative Lieutenant Chris Dransfeldt provided
the SRO Report noting tobacco enforcement and
education efforts. There has been an uptick in
vaping and additional programs are being introduced
at Ramona Middle School.
5. Counseling Program Gamaliel Polanco with Tri-City Mental Health provided
an update on the school counseling program.
Gamaliel noted that interns have been at schools since
November and will wrap up at the end of May.
Referrals range from attention and focus issues to
developing social skills related to COVID impacts.
6. LV/SD Ed. Foundation Resident Ron Serven shared information regarding the
La Verne San Dimas Education Foundation related to
wellness programs including the theme of planting
seeds to nurture and grow wellness so youth can
thrive.

7. Public Comment JR suggested that members be ready to participate in
a strategic planning session at the June meeting in
order to plan and prioritize programs for the next
school year. This will also include discussion on
budget and fundraising.
Relative to a youth representative participating on
YFAC, it was suggested that the group also reach out
to Chaparral High School.
8. Next Meeting The next YFAC meeting was scheduled for June 28,
2022.
9. Adjournment The meeting was adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
