Call to Order and Declare a Quorum @ 5:30 pm D Recker, C Farmer, S Dodson present G GIlbert arived at 6:20 pm 2. Invocation, Pledge of Allegiance and Pledge of Texas Flag D Recker led the invocation and pledge 3. Public Comments None 4. Consent Agenda (All consent agenda items are considered routine by City Council and will be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a Councilmember requests an item be removed and considered separately.) A. Approve the Meeting Minutes from the 08-10-23 Regular Meeting C Farmer made a motion to approve the consent agenda as listed, seconded by S Dodson, all in favor 5. Discuss Only A. Discuss an update regarding the Harvest Hoedown event MDD staff presents plans regarding decor and activities 6. Discussion/Action A. Discuss and consider action on purchasing christmas decor for this year C Farmer motioned to purchase 4 garlands with one bow, and 1 snowflake design overstreet swag, seconded by S Dodson, all in favor B. Discuss and consider action on purchasing tables and chairs for the park to be used for city and MDD-sponsored events as well as rental items C Farmer motioned to spend no more than $2,000.00 on tables and chair, seconded by S Dodson, all in favor C. Discuss and Consider action on purchasing a Bear to kick start the MDD Bear Program Will discuss @ the next meeting D. Discuss and consider appointing a president and Vice President of the MDD Board  Will discuss @ the next meeting E. Discuss and consider partnering with Wayne Robbins of the La Vernia market days to extend funding towards his proposal of adding a new pavilion at the City Park - Wayne Robbins presents - C Farmer motion to give $16,000 to Wayne for the proposal of adding a new pavilion at the City Park, seconded by S Dodson, all in favor 7. Future Agenda Items - Christmas plans - Harvest Hoedown -Small Business Saturday 8. Adjourn C Farmer made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6: 20 p.m., seconded by S Dodson, all in favor The Board of the La Vernia Municipal Development District reserves the right to adjourn into executive session at any time during the course of this meeting to discuss any of the matters listed above, as authorized by the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code 551.071 (Consultation with Attorney), 551.072 (Deliberations about Real Property), 551.073 (Deliberations about Gifts and Donations), 551.074 (Personnel Matters), 551.076 (Deliberation about Security Devices), and 551.087 (Economic Development), and any other provision under Texas law that permits a governmental body to discuss a matter in a closed executive session.
