Laconia Public Library Board of Trustees Minutes of Meeting August 22, 2019 Volpe Room Call to Order: Laconia Public Library Board of Trustees held their regular monthly meeting in the Volpe Room. Chairman John Moriarty called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm. Present: James Anderson; Kimberly Danosi; alternate Bruce Kneuer; and Director Randy Brough. Chairman seated Kneuer. Not Present: Aaron Bassett; Marie Bradley; John Perley; Liz Rosenfeld. Reports: Secretary’s Report: June 20 minutes were revised to read, “Board voted unanimously (Motion: Anderson; seconded Bradley) that the Library Director send a letter to Father Marc Drouin that the Library will barricade the connection between the Library parking lot and St. Joseph’s Church parking lot immediately upon completion of the final service held at the Church.” Revised June 20 minutes were approved unanimously. Financial Report: June and July Financial reports were reviewed. Final end of fiscal year report (June) has not yet been produced by the City. Anderson has created a new report combining the monthly revenues summary and the checking account summary. Chairman’s Report: Moriarty provided an overview of the Board of Trustee accomplishments over the past twelve months, including: 1 · Formulation of budget and passage of the budget by City Council; · Creation and adoption of Investment Expenditure Limitation Policy; · ILS migration · Inspection of Laconia Public Library historic artifacts stored at 65 Water Street, and development of a plan to assess them. This list is by no means comprehensive. Moriarty will investigate Eversource commitment to “green” the berm between Library and Church parking lots. Moriarty, Danosi, and Brough met two weeks ago to discuss Brough’s upcoming evaluation. He has completed a self-evaluation form, copies of which Danosi distributed along with the evaluation form to be used by Trustees to allow for a fuller, move meaningful review. The September 26 meeting will focus on his evaluation. Director’s Report: Laconia Police Department provided Active Shooter Training for library staff yesterday (August 21). Director met with Father Marc Drouin yesterday to discuss parking and move of Holy Trinity School to Sacred Heart campus. Director is arranging for Joe Constance to examine library artifacts next month. September 13 and 20 are potential dates for Joe to come to 65 Water St. The concrete ramp on Church Street side of Library will be power washed on Saturday, September 7. Next meeting: Thursday, September 26 at 5:30 in the Volpe Room. Meeting adjourned at 6:59 pm. Motion by Danosi, seconded by Kneuer (unanimous). Respectfully submitted, 2
