Minutes were approved by the Appointments Subcommittee at their 8/16/2023 meeting. CITY OF LACONIA - APPOINTMENTS COMMITTEE FEBRUARY 23, 2023 - 4:30 P.M. CITY HALL - ROOM 200B 2/23/2023 - Minutes 1. CALL TO ORDER Chairman Soucy called the meeting to order at 4:30 pm. 2. SALUTE TO THE FLAG Chairman Soucy led the salute to the flag. 3. RECORDING SECRETARY Nancy Brown, Administrative Assistant to the City Manager 4. ROLL CALL Roll call was taken with the following committee members in attendance: Chairman Robert Soucy, Councilor Mark Haynes and Councilor Bruce Cheney. Chairman Soucy noted that a quorum was established. 5. STAFF IN ATTENDANCE Nancy Brown, Administrative Assistant to the City Manager 6. ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETINGS 6.A. Appointments Committee meeting minutes of December 27, 2022 Minutes of the December 27, 2022 meeting were accepted as distributed with no changes. 7. Interviews of individuals interested in being reappointed or appointed to the City's Boards and Commissions Jim Rogato was interviewed for reappointment to the Licensing Board as a regular member to a term expiring at the end of March, 2026. John Perley was interviewed for reappointment to the Library Board of Trustees as a regular member to a term expiring at the end of March, 2026. Marie Bradley was interviewed for reappointment to the Library Board of Trustees as a regular member to a term expiring at the end of March, 2026. Bruce Kneuer was interviewed for reappointment to the Library Board of Trustees as an alternate member to a term expiring at the end of March, 2024. Sally Sessler was interviewed for appointment to the Library Board of Trustees as a regular member to fill the remainder of an unexpired term; this term will expire at the end of March, 2024. Bruce Kneuer was interviewed for reappointment to the Library Board of Trustees as an alternate member to a term expiring at the end of March, 2024. Sally Sessler was interviewed for appointment to the Library Board of Trustees as a regular member to fill the remainder of an unexpired term; this term will expire at the end of March, 2024. Mitch Hamel was interviewed for reappointment to the Parks and Recreation Commission as a regular member to a term expiring at the end of March, 2026. Nate Guerette, Assistant Public Works Director, was unable to be at the meeting; however, the Appointments Committee recommended that he be appointed as an alternate on the Lakes Region Planning Commission Transportation Advisory Committee to a term expiring at the end of February, 2025. The Appointments Committee will bring forth these recommendations for appointment at the next City Council meeting scheduled for February 27, 2023 8. Any other business that may come before the Committee There was no further business to come before the Appointments Committee. 9. ADJOURNMENT Chairman Soucy adjourned the meeting at 6:00 pm.
