ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETINGS 6.I. Acceptance Of Minutes D. Williams motioned to accept the mins of January 4, 2023 seconded by M. Foote With the following changes: add R. Harrington to the roll, under item 7.1, 3 rd paragraph, “DT” change to” D. Trefethen”, item 8.5 correction of the word “sate” to “state”. 5 for, L. Morin abstained. Motion by D. Williams to accept the minutes of January 18, 2023, seconded by L. Morin with the following corrections: under item 4- “electronic hangers” to be changed to “electronic changes”. All in favor. 7. OLD BUSINESS 7.I. Roller Coaster Rd. Drainage Discussion D. Anson and M. Foote discussed the poor drainage conditions on Roller Coaster Road, agreeing that Conservation Commission should work toward bettering the situation, whether that be through discussion with DPW, grant writing, or other methods. 7.II. Discussion With Amy Lovisek- Cohort Project the Commission had a brief discussion with A. Lovisek regarding signage and the orientation of potential future raingardens on City property. 8. Merrimack River Watershed Council- Source Water Protection Restoration Opportunity T. Morrill of the Merrimack River Watershed Council discussed the background of the organization. He proposed invasive species removal and replanting projects at Bartlett Beach, and Water Street. He suggested that an initial removal of invasives take place at Bartlett Beach in winter to be used as a teaching tool. A. Lovisek (Parks and Recreation) said that she would be interested in the project to take place on land controlled by the City’s Parks Department, agreeing to coordinate with T. Morrill on planning and execution. The Commission took interest in future projects, agreeing to coordinate in the future. D. Anson suggested creating a list of priority areas for future projects, to include cleanup and replanting at Water Street (controlled by the Department of Public Works). 8.II. Joint Meeting With Gilford Con Com The Commission discussed some of the more serious issues taking place on Black Brook, and agreed to attend the upcoming Gilford Conservation Commission meeting, to be held on February 21 at 7:00 PM. L. Morin suggested that Gilford be given a copy of the “Geomorphic Assessment Report and Watershed Plan Black Brook Laconia and Gilford, New Hampshire” if they do not currently have access to it on their website. 9. NEW HAMPSHIRE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES APPLICATIONS 10. OTHER BUSINESS 10.I. Non Public Session Motion R. Harrington to enter non-public, seconded by M. Foote, all in-favor Non-Public session entered at 7:20PM Motion by D. Anson to exit Non-Public session, seconded by R. Harrington, all in favor. Exited at 7:00PM Motion by D.
