1. CALL TO ORDER
D. Anson calls the meeting to order at 6:00.

8.I. Rob Mora’s Responses To Questions From Last Meeting
8.II. Conservation Commission Checklist
Con Com discussed their checklist for developers at length. Con Com went through each
item on the checklist and changed or updated it. D. Williams will share the changed Con
Com made with G. Draper to make the updates.
8.III. Signs
D. Williams shares the signs purchased for the WOW Trail Pollinator Garden. The Signs
now need to be installed when the ground thaws.
8.IV. UNH, NHF&G Zoom Meeting Topic 3/19
UNH’s next upcoming cohort will have the same opportunity for attendees to submit a
project for help getting it off the ground.
9. NEW BUSINESS
9.I. PB2025-048; 474 Leighton Ave. North (21-253-10)
Doug LaRosa from CivilWorks New England presents the project. The application is
for a CUP to develop within the SPOD. D. Anson says he knows the property
owners of the project and recuses himself. D. LaRosa asks if Con Com will still
have a quorum. D. Anson responds “yes”. Con Com provides recommendations to
D. LaRosa for the project.

FB Environmental did a study and found 8 areas that need to be
addressed in order to decrease the sediment running into Langley Cove.

The Congregational Church will have an Earth Day Fair on 5/10. Con Com
will have a table at the fair. Con Com will draft a brief description of what
they do. G. Draper will look in the planning office for Con Com’s tablecloth.
9.III. Computerization Of Water Quality Tributary Data
G. Draper has created a map on ArcGIS showing water sampling locations and sampling
data compiled by NH DES at these locations over the past 10 years. G. Draper does not
know of a way to share the map with Con Com since they do not have ArcGIS. He will reach
out to find out what the options are for sharing the map with Con Com.
9.IV. Adopt A Spot
L. Morin and D. Anson discuss the Belknap County Conservation District stepping down
from Adopt A Spot, and having the boy scouts take it over. D. Anson says he will discuss
what taking it over would entail with Glenn Smith, the City’s Financial Director and a local
boy scout troop leader.
9.V. Vernal Pools
D. Anson shares that the following are locations where he believes vernal pools are around
the city. He would like Con Com to work with G. Draper to draft some sort of map showing
vernal pools around Laconia.

11.I. Land For Sale
D. Williams shares that there a few parcels of land for sale around Laconia. She shares the
locations, the size of the parcels, and the listing prices.
11.II. NH Lakes Lake Host Grant
Con Com is eligible for $1,600 in Lake Host grant money. D. Williams is applying for the grant
for the Opechee Lake Host position. In order to cover wages for both lake host positions, Con
Com will contribute $1,500 to Lake Host wages for summer 2025. D. Anson moves that Con
Com allocates $1,500 to paying Lake Hosts for summer 2024. L. Morin seconds the motion.
Unanimous.
12. STAFF REPORT
