City of Laconia Downtown TIF Wednesday, July 24th, 2024 - 9:00 AM City Hall - Conference Room 200B AGENDA 7/24/2024 - Minutes 1. Call to Order Meeting called to order at 9:02am. 2. Roll Call In attendance Warren Clement, Myles Chase from MC Cycle, Charlie from All My Life Jewelers 3. Recording Secretary Savanna Brunelle, Admin Assistant 4. Staff in Attendance Rob Mora, Planning Director Tyler Carmichael, Assistant Planner 5. Acceptance of Minutes from Previous Meetings Minutes were accepted as presented. 6. New Business 6.1. Landscaping in Downtown There was discussion about landscaping downtown. W. Clement is going to stay in contact with Amanda Falwell the woman who did the painting in Downtown. W. Clement mentioned looking into a landscape architect and doing a walk through to beautify the downtown. 6.2. New Members The new potential members were present. 7. Old Business 7.1. Adopt-A-Spot There was discussion about adding more greenspace to the downtown area to soften it up and the plan to maintain. Charlie mentioned bringing in an outside eye to get a different perspective on things. R. Mora discussed reaching out to someone as well. 7.1. Downtown TIF Budget Staff presented the members with the updated fiscal year budget. There was discussion about how much the Downtown TIF has. W. Clement asked for a copy of the bond payment for the bridge from the state. R. Mora will look into it and get a copy. There was further discussion about the breakdown of some line items on the budget. There was discussion about how money is being distributed and how it is spent. 8. Planning Monthly Dept Report R. Mora summarized the Planning Dept monthly report. There was discussion about expanding eating and drinking outside on properties. There was discussion about parking in the Downtown Area. R. Mora mentioned that there was a presentation about it being held at City Hall. Myles asked for clarification on the boundaries of the Downtown TIF. Staff will have a new map with those outlines. R. Mora discussed the Economic Developer position being announced. The idea would be for that role to come to TIF meetings. The State School property was brought up and discussed. Staff explained the process of how to become a member of the TIF. 9. Adjournment Meeting adjourned at 10:09am.
