Downtown TIF Advisory Board

8/28/2024 - Minutes 1. Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 9:01am 2. Roll Call the following members were in attendance; Charlie St. Clair, Warren Clement, and Charlie Bullerwell 3. Recording Secretary Savanna Brunelle, Admin Assistant 4. Staff in Attendance Rob Mora, Planning Director Tyler Carmichael, Assistant Planner 5. Acceptance of Minutes from Previous Meetings Minutes were accepted as presented. 5.1. Draft Min 6. New Business 6.1. Town of Meredith Landscaping S. Brunelle reached out to the Town of Meredith regarding the beautification of Meredith. It is a dual effort on behalf of the Meredith Garden Club and the Greater Meredith Program. There was discussion about the lighting and plantings downtown. W. Clement is going to investigate and talk with a vendor from New Spectrum Lighting. 7. Old Business T. Carmichael presented the committee with the idea of a “Festival Street” on Canal St. Staff will continue more research on keeping the curbing/parking. There was additional conversation about having food trucks within the city. There was discussion about a Special Events Coordinator position to emphasize bringing events and maintaining them. The Economic Developer position that just opened was discussed and how they’re role actively plays into the TIF. The WOW Trail was discussed and how to extend it/make it more appealing. Parking in the City was mentioned including charging stations for electric vehicles and enforcement. The board requested more information about the loan payment of the bridge. Staff will present it at the next meeting. There was further discussion about the budget. Banner poles and archways we’re discussed and the process of how it’s done. The Pumpkin Fest application was discussed and where it was being located/dates. The board expressed concerns with the event not being primarily in Downtown. There was further discussion about creating an events department. Staff will reach out to other Cities in regard to their events planning. 8. Adjournment Meeting was adjourned at 10:10am 8.
