CITY OF LACONIA HERITAGE COMMISSION APRIL 12, 2017 MINUTES I. CALL TO ORDER: C. Tokarz called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. II. PRESENT: C. Tokarz, D. Duffy, M. Hoey, M. Boudman ABSENT: J. Whitehead, A. Doyle STAFF: D. Wood (recording the meeting) III. MINUTES: Minutes of the meeting on March 8, 2017 were reviewed. M. Hoey noted that she did not attend the Lakes Region Heritage Commission meeting on February 13, 2017 and requested the Minutes be amended to reflect that. D. Duffy made a motion to approve the Minutes as amended. M. Hoey seconded the motion and it was approved unanimously. IV. CITY COUNCIL LIAISON REPORT: Ava Doyle was unable to attend the meeting but sent word that she had nothing new to report. V. OLD BUSINESS A. Area Studies: C. Tokarz said she heard from Judith Pellowe who said she has been very busy as she just got a new job; but she said she would continue to work on the Area Studies. She said she did some deed research. She also said she needs to take some pictures but is unable to do that. C. Tokarz said that she will be responsible for the pictures. Judith said the narrative was done and just needs to be retyped. Judith also said that she needs more background on the history of Laconia. C. Tokarz said that Judith will be at our next meeting and requested that members get background on the history of some properties and assigned the following: D. Duffy (Colonial Theater), M. Boudman (Belknap Mill), M. Hoey (Railroad Station), and C. Tokarz (Busiel Mill). B. Lakeport Fire Station: Nothing new to report. C. St. Joseph’s Church: Nothing new to report. B. N.H. Preservation Alliance’s Stateside Historic Preservation Conference: C. Tokarz said the Commission received an invitation to the N.H. Preservation Alliance’s Statewide Preservation Conference on April 21, 2017. C. Tokarz said it would be good for members to attend and requested that anyone who would like to attend should let her know so that a check can be requested to pay for the conference. VI. NEW BUSINESS A. 64 Morningside Drive Demolition Permit Application: M. Hoey made a motion to approve the application. M. Boudman seconded the motion and it was approved unanimously. C. Tokarz signed the Demo application. VII. Public Comments: None IX. Adjournment: D. Duffy made a motion to adjourn, which was seconded by M. Hoey and unanimously approved. The meeting was adjourned at 5:55 p.m.
