CITY OF LACONIA HERITAGE COMMISSION June 14, 2017 MINUTES I. CALL TO ORDER: C. Tokarz called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. II. PRESENT: C. Tokarz, D. Duffy, M. Boudman ABSENT: M. Hoey, J. Whitehead, A. Doyle STAFF: D. Wood (recording the meeting) GUEST: Linda Frawley III. MINUTES: The Minutes of the meeting on May 10, 2017, were reviewed. D. Duffy made a motion to approve the Minutes. M. Boudman seconded the motion, and it was approved unanimously. IV. CITY COUNCIL LIAISON REPORT: None V. PLANNING BOARD UPDATE: None VI. OLD BUSINESS: A. Area Studies: C. Tokarz said Judith Pellowe sent a list of the addresses of the properties. D. Wood sent copies of the tax maps for the properties to J. Pellowe. C. Tokarz said Joanna DeCesare has offered to take the photos for the area studies, and the Heritage Commission will pay Joanna for the photos, as there is money in our account. B. St. Joseph’s Church: C. Tokarz said that J. Whitehead had delivered the letter she wrote to the Pope’s secretary and is hoping for some response from the Vatican. She also said that she has heard from parishioners, who said they were grateful for whatever the Heritage Commission could do to save the church. C. NH Preservation Alliance Report: C. Tokarz said this report was delayed from last month. D. Duffy said that the conference was very good and the members who attended went to different programs. L. Frawley suggested they check the NHPA website which may have some report of the conference. C. Tokarz said she will check. D. Planning Board attendees: D. Duffy said it was a good idea if someone from the Commission attended the meetings. E. Property Restoration Recognization: D. Duffy will work on the certificates. VII. NEW BUSINESS: A. C. Tokarz asked L. Frawley if she had any suggestions for recruiting new board members for our Heritage Commission. L. Frawley suggested it might be good to have someone from the school system like a teacher or maybe even a student. VIII. PUBLIC COMMENTS: None IX. ADJOURNMENT: D. Duffy made a motion to adjourn, which was seconded by M. Boudman. The meeting was adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
