CITY OF LACONIA HERITAGE COMMISSION AUGUST 9, 2017 MINUTES I. CALL TO ORDER: C. Tokarz called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. II. PRESENT: C. Tokarz, D. Duffy, M. Hoey, M. Boudman ABSENT: J. Whitehead, A. Doyle STAFF: D. Wood (recording the meeting) III. MINUTES: The Minutes of the meeting on July 13, 2017, were reviewed. D. Duffy made a motion to approve the Minutes. M. Boudman seconded the motion and it was approved unanimously. IV. CITY COUNCIL LIAISON REPORT: None V. PLANNING BOARD UPDATE: D. Duffy attended the Planning Board meeting on August 1, 2017. She gave a brief summary of the items on the agenda, but there was nothing on the agenda that would be of concern to the Heritage Commission. C. Tokarz said it was good that D. Duffy attended the meeting and opened the door for other members who will be attending the Planning Board meetings. VI. OLD BUSINESS A. Area Studies/Photography: C. Tokarz said that Joanna DeCesare has backed out of doing the photography after she read the parameters for the photos from Andrew Cushing. C. Tokarz called A. Cushing and asked for clarification, and he sent her an abbreviated version which was much easier to follow. C. Tokarz forwarded this to Joanna and is waiting to hear back from her. C. Tokarz said she is thinking of doing the pictures herself, and M. Boudman said she would like to help her. C. Tokarz also said she has heard nothing further from Judith Pellowe. B. St. Joseph’s Church: C. Tokarz said she had nothing new to report. C. NH Preservation Alliance Report: D. Duffy gave a copy of the report of the June 22, 2017 to C. Tokarz and also gave a short synopsis of the report. D. Property Restoration Recognization: D. Duffy passed out a sample certificate. C. Tokarz asked Commissioners to come up with a list of deserving properties. VII. NEW BUSINESS: A. Irving Oil Buildings: C. Tokarz said she talked to Brandee Loughlin, and said she didn’t think it fell into criteria for the Heritage Commission (referring to 3 buildings that need to come down). C. Tokarz said it will be kept on the agenda for Old Business. B. Busy Corner: C. Tokarz said that it looks like work on the park is starting. VIII. PUBLIC COMMENTS: None IX. ADJOURNMENT: M. Boudman made a motion to adjourn, which was seconded by D. Duffy, and the meeting was adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
